Sure it does mess up the schedule. But have you seen the Open Beta 19 for 7 Series? The changelog? Open Beta versions are supposed to add new features with every update and check them if they are working fine. But i didn't see any solid change there. They gave us the update only to keep our mouths shut.
I am a hardcore OnePlus fan, but seeing this hurts. I expect Android 11 would reach us late and i accept that but seeing last year's update schedule of Android 10, and how and when OnePlus 6 series received it in the form of OB and Stable, we were excited to see it but they just crushed our hopes. Anyway, Android 11 is buggy for OP8 series, so they are probably fixing that first which is good.

You are an OP8 Pro user, how is Android 11?

Yeah. This current time before 11 I would not expect much happening with 10. I expect 11 betas to start next open beta for 7/7t.
I used DP4 to beta 14 (I think) on 7 Pro myself before I upgraded. At some point I feelt the changes was more "under the hood" than actual features.
At some points in time I actually believe they don't have anything new they they want testers for. Now with IDEAS 2.0 running I guess we can start seeing a few new things other that what they come up with of their own.
Betas is were features usually come first. But it does not nessesarilly means it always comes new stuff. It can be alot of "boring" non visible stuff too.

As a beta user (that has done a completely clean install and been on beta since Developer Preview 3) 11 is pretty nice on my 8 Pro.
But for many (including Pixel users) that has upgraded from 10 and have not done clean installs or done some actual trial and error on why and what that gives them errors/issues and is depending on certain apps that is failing on 11 it's a real mess. It's more than just the OS that needs time (app devs too).
Many forget that many issues in many cases happen about as equally often on Pixels and is not exclusive to Oxygen OS.
As it is now Beta 3 is better than current stable according to some.

And when 12 comes people complain and roll back to 11 and have forgotten all about the issues that came with 11.... Just like many have forgotten the complains over 10...and 9 and... Well you know 😉 The cycle repete itself.
It's not all good to be early adopters of an new OS. But some have to do it.

    Hi everyone.
I've taken things into my own hands, and decided to try and install this so famous update myself. After only just one search, google spit out a direct thread from XDA developers site with a link for direct download and explanation what to do. From there it was just a matter of putting my new download in root folder ( plain said, anywhere in internal storage) and then from system updates in settings, simply installing the update. I like it somewhat more=e than oxygen updater. It is currently only working for EU versions...why, i don't know... I'm not bitching every time that there is no update because my phone is slow. It is not. It's still almost as fast as the day I bought it. Even though it is somewhat full... Photos, games, apps... I'm a heavy user and I'm happy with 4-5 hours screen on time and when my phone is cooler than 30 degrees celsius... I'm bitching every update because of the security patch... I find it more important... Hopefully it helps somebody. Cheers

OP is on a normal lifecycle of company expanding. Everything is normal, since OP cannot dictate the rules of economy and money regulation at all. IMO

Change in top leadership of oneplus is changing the way oneplus was , moving away from stock android in os11, trying to install bloatware (Amazon app) in new updates etc. Moving away from flagship killer to flagship and now to nord n100 a rebranded version on oppo A53. This is not going in right direction.

More than safe or not safe, its about commitment. Oxygen updater must not be used not because of the question of safety, just because it makes the rollout process unfair. Update - it's responsibility of OEM. Not third party.
