Rollout is limited the first 2 weeks. After that it rollouts globally unless there are too many bugs in the update. All you need to do is wait or manually update yourself. 7 AA is what you need.

My forum post with download links to the 10 upgrade and 9 downgrades.

If the update is stopped, then is it useless to update using Oxygen Updater?
I'm using it for the first time, presumably the data will be safe right?

There's increased risk any time you use a third party source to update your OS...

If you are on stable you don't loose anything. If you are on beta it will wipe.
Update does not wipe. Downgrade does.

If they stopped it you get the bugs that was the reason for they stopping it. So it's recommended to wait. If waiting is not your thing use any of the options available for manual update.

I agree with you totally, but I think that OnePlus must clarify what will happened, because as their 1st Post:
"This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. ..."
    The "few days" already gone...

They usually don't say anything before the actual replacement update is ready. It's still a big IF regarding if they stopped it or not.
If the update rolls out globally I bet a new one comes faster than normal though.

Exactly. Just make sure to chose that one that is meant for your phone. The files are directly from Oneplus servers and all reliable sites posting and linking to stable releases should point to the exact same files. These are also the exact same files Oxygen Updater let's you download.
Before you use the files you can verify the integrity of the file by checking the md5 with md5 checker. Always double check what files you use before flashing.

Just to be sure a backup can always be nice to have. Regardless of OTA to a major upgrade or manually doing it.

If it does rollout as normal it should be close. So you should not need to wait that long.
