In the side screen where you see the shortcuts and recent calls, some the touch is not responsive across the length of the screen.only the top part of the screen works

This is so true. The way i liked the app permission update it does mess with the GSP for maps especially.

Baffling how some people have a few minor issues with the update, but say it's good, while others report their phones are completely 'broken' or 'unusable'. Same hardware, same OS 🤔

10.3.0 is still solid on mine, only other minor issue I've hit a few times is NFC is on in settings but doesn't work. Toggle it off/on and it works again.

I even downloaded PUBG last night and tried that. HD/Ultra settings, it didn't crash, frame-rate seemed good. Worked well. Burnt through battery though!

    I couldn't agree more.
I'm staggered at the amount of complaints on here.
But be careful if you post you have no issues.
You'll be called a fanboy/payboy as they'll say you work for OnePlus and are here to post positive things!

I gave it a go last night - and it worked!
Took a while to manage to copy the file across to my phone (I needed to enable data transfer via USB - which I found out in another forum on here) but other than that it was very straightforward.
    Cheers.

Great. Just don't complain about the keyboard position or notch :)

Worth reading the posts on battery optimisation, I've managed to get much more battery life out of 10 than I every got with Pie.

I've tried 10.3 but have given upon it and gone back to 9.0.9. I did try - even wiped my phone, did a clean install and thought everything was OK but out and about yesterday I had no mobile data and bluetooth wouldn't work!

It's a shame because it looked good and was quite slick, but if basic things don't work I can't live with it. I just hope OnePlus get it sorted and we have anice clean working version of 10 soon.

When would you suggest to do a reset/wipe? After installing the update? Or before?

I don't see any problems with my 6 on 10.3. I don't usually have update problems and have been with OnePlus since the OnePlus one.
I have been reading posts that match the posts here all the time.
User A says my phone is running well on the update.
User B says this update has trashed my phone, it's unusable, send an update now.

I suggested once, on the two or three after an update, that OnePlus get hold of some of the devices that were having those troubles and find out what was causing the problems. Just think of the glory if they had done that and got to the bottom of the problems.
But, much like my wives and girlfriends over the years, they took no notice.
Ah well. We will struggle on through the fallout after updates year after year.
The answer is so simple. Google, Apple and all the other manufacturers could do it at anytime but they don't.
Start with a simple one. After all updates some people have heavy battery drain. Get a few handsets suffering from that, give the owners a top of the range model in exchange, and find out why the battery is being drained. Simple.

Firstly, the reset/wipe is a suggestion if your updated phone is proving unreliable. Most people are doing it after updating. If your phone is working and you are confident it's configured well, maybe continue to use it, see how you go?

You could argue if you were feeling really proactive, factory reseting Pie, then updating to 10 minimises the work the update has to do? I kinda did it this way - I went to 10.0.1, hit a few show-stoppers, factory reset to Pie and then soon after upgraded to 10.3.0.

BTW I'm confused when people say their upgrade isn't working but refuse to factory reset - they have to anyway to get back to Pie, so they may as well try it?

I'm sure more techie people on here have a view.

The battery optimisation stuff is different, calibrate the battery if needed (I haven't needed this) and reviewing your 3rd-party app optimimisation in settings/battery/battery optimisation.

I updated my handset few days ago with OxygenOS 10.3.0 and I was very happy to get latest update. But after using for a couple of days, I observed that my handset getting lagged. System is not smooth as it was earlier. When I have to attach the files on WhatsApp, sometimes it is lagging and files are not being attached. I would have to restart the handset to complete the job.

How big are the files that cause WhatsApp to fail? I've been playing around, a 1 minute 4K/60fps video for example is over a gig, and WhatsApp will choke on that.

OK. Can't repeat that fault here on a 6 running 10.3.0. Have you tried clearing the cache for WhatsApp or reinstalling it?
