Okay, yep. That's the reason your temps are high. Hot-as-hell ambient temps = hot-as-hell phone. No updates will fix this, this is typical of all devices without an internal cooling method.

Yes. Think of it this way: does food ever cool when it's inside of an oven?

It's always been like that, you just haven't noticed till now. Or maybe it's gotten hotter in your area since February?

Have you tried the steps I mentioned, also check if the following an help. Some say it does, but others say it doesn't, so it would be something you might have to check.

Also ensure you optimise the apps and phone the way I mentioned previously.

    Wipe cache partition

    Turn off your device.

Press and hold the Volume down and Power button at the same time.

When the OnePlus logo appears, release the Power button, but continue holding the Volume down button.

At the Password screen, enter the Password or PIN number that you use to unlock your device. When done, tap Ok.

    Tap English.

    Tap Wipe data and cache.

    Tap Wipe cache.

    Tap Yes to continue.

Tap Reboot to restart the phone.

For your information phone gets heat up up during charge an
d temperature can range from 35°c to 45°c.
the SURFACE you put your phone during charging and ambient temperature decides the heat dissipation. if you put your phone on bed mattress or sofa or pillows, and
any thing that does not conduct heat and not flat then your phone will get heat up .
Try to put phone on desk table.
