now again the heating issue is coming.

the phone has started to heat.
the temperature I checked on CPU Z is in the range 42-45°C now.

If OP support can't locate the issue, the only solution I could suggest, would be to Factory Reset.

Do a full Erase/Delete All Data factory reset.

This will restore you to a fresh installation of Android. So you will need to backup your phone.

    After Backing up the phone.

    Go to Settings,
    System,
    Reset Options,
    Enable Erase Internal Storage.

Then click on the Delete All Data button.

You have pretty much done everything, only a couple of other suggestion I can give is to see if battery optimisation can help. It does take a couple of full charge cycles. Still no guarantee it will work.

I will put this in 2 posts.

Just in case there is an App hogging resources, causing Heat issues, causing lag, Battery drain or freezing, clear your recent apps, also try setting 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

Go through 3 to 4 charge cycles, leave on charge beyond full capacity for a couple of hours. Preferably overnight.

After a few days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.

2nd option, try a downgrade to a version you know worked fine.

ROLL-BACK FROM CURRENT ANDROID 10 Stable TO EARLIER STOCK ANDROID 9 OR 10

Thanks to @ironass for putting this together.

This Link will guide you through the Downgrade process.

Always BACKUP your phone before doing this as it will wipe the phone.

    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/roll-back-to-stock-android-9-or-10.1215079/

All Downgrades to earlier builds involve wiping the phone.

So you will need to backup your phone data.

That's large, sometimes a full factory reset might reclaim some of that storage, but maybe only 3GB to 5 GB. Most cases it's not really worth it.

Ok reporting after full charge: 1h after using the SIM the phone lost signal multiple times, got really hot and rebooted. After reboot everything went good, I'm still using it and monitoring the situation.

I know the SIM isn't shorting and at this point the only "fix" is just waiting for the first reboot. Maybe it has to do with some settings inside, but at least the devs claim they are tackling the issue so we have just to wait.

And also can't discount a possible hardware fault, if all other avenues have been explored.

Am I the only one who is impatient for Android 10 status bar icons like OOS 10.5 ... one of the few things I disliked about OOS 10 was that they decided to keep the Nougat style ones... Glad they changed their mind for OOS 10.5... but sad they made it exclusive just for Oneplus 8 series
