If you are in a hot climate such as 30° or higher, The air temperature at your location can cause the phone to heat while in use or charging. 6 series phones have no active cooling.

However try the steps below to see if you can relieve some of the issue.

Just in case there is an App hogging resources, causing Heat issues, causing lag, Battery drain or freezing, clear your recent apps, also try setting 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

Go through 3 to 4 charge cycles, leave on charge beyond full capacity for a couple of hours. Preferably overnight.

After a few days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.

If its still not improving, backup your phone, full factory reset, Delete All Data, as in wipe your phone completely, and repeat the steps above.

This will restore you to a fresh installation of Android. So you will need to backup your phone.

    After Backing up the phone.

    Go to Settings,
    Reset Options,
    Enable Erase Internal Storage.

Then click on the Delete All Data button.

    Hey guys,
after spending 2 days trying to fix overheating issues and signal loss, I gave up.

I am now on LineageOS with EXkernel (using conservating governor on both clusters) and temps seem to be under control. Also I have had some network issues (disconnecting and so on) but they aren't as bad as before - it's still too late to say that I fixed the issue but hey, at least I have a working phone now :D

To anyone experiencing issues also consider as a last resource trying a custom kernel with more conservative governors

There is no /cache anymore, this does nothing. Back up your shizz and factory reset. This might fix your issues.

For me with 10.3.3 everything works just fine, in fact better than before. Battery lasts longer for sure, 6 and a half or 7h screen on time (i'm using oneplus 6), here is fresh screenshoot. No lag or any other problems also.
