    Hey Oneplus,
After last couple of updates I'm facing a real fast battery drain. earlier it used to last a day without any hassles, but now it falls short by a decent margin.
Moreover the phone is over heating around the camera area near the processor. i don't think this is something common. i tried resetting to factory settings but no luck. is there anything else i can do?
i just don't wanna give up on my phone as it is a tad too good. appart from the Problem above.
    thanks,
    utkarsh

Try optimizing the phone. And if after a week, there is no noticeable difference, try the second part of this post to Factory Reset.

Just in case there is an App hogging resources, causing Heat issues, causing lag, Battery drain or freezing, clear your recent apps, also try setting 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

Go through 3 to 4 charge cycles, leave on charge beyond full capacity for a couple of hours. Preferably overnight.

After a few days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.

If its still not improving, backup your phone, full factory reset, Delete All Data, as in wipe your phone completely, and repeat the steps above.

This will restore you to a fresh installation of Android. So you will need to backup your phone.

    After Backing up the phone.

    Go to Settings,
    System,
    Reset Options,
    Enable Erase Internal Storage.

Then click on the Delete All Data button.

Hey guys to anyone having heating issues another possible fix is disabling gaming drivers for apps.
I found out that my CPU frequencies spiked up as soon as I opened every app - this was probably part of the issue too.

Open Camera App Info, click 3 dot option, top right, uninstall updates.

Restart the phone, once restarted clear Camera app info cache and App info Storage storage, see if that helps.

    Ok

Try downloading the Oneplus camera once more, but also install the Oneplus Camera Service as well.

    https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/onepl.../oneplus-camera-3-10-19-android-apk-download/

NB. Do NOT install Version 4 as it will not work on 6 series phones. I have tested 3.10.19 and it works fine.

And Download and install OnePlus Camera Service

To check if its a particular issue, put the phone in Aeroplane mode overnight and see what your battery drain is. If it comes down, leave on Aeroplane mode but enable each radio each night to find out which one is causing it.

    Try Bluetooth enabled one night
Try Bluetooth and WiFi enabled second night
Try Bluetooth, WiFi, Mobile Network 3rd night.

If its the Mobile Network it may be that the Mobile radio has a weak signal and is constantly searching for a stronger signal.

I have my wifi and bluetooth disabled at night cause they aren't required during that duration The third one that is mobile data, I only use mobile data since I do not have wifi connection at home and just to be clear the battery drain had been 2-3 % at night on mobile dat on only. Kindly do not present the problem as being something while it is the issue with this release.

Excuse yourself, you asked a question, I gave a suggestion for you to try, place the phone in Aeroplane mode overnight, if it reduces the battery drain, then your problem is with your phone signal.

Entirely up to you if you want to check that or not. This is a user forum, if you want to take it up with OnePlus contact OnePlus support directly to see if they have more information on your issue. Scroll down the page for contact and online chat details.

It was kind request to not make it person specific issue when the same is with the release. Why I say so bcoz, I am using the phone same as before the signal strength is also same as before . basically saying again conditions are same.

Thank you for the inputs though, apologies if you felt that you were the one being accused!!!
