    That would be the space below the keyboard that Google introduced to support navigation gestures in Android 10, it's the same on my pixel 4.

    You can find ADB commands to change it if you want, but it may affect other display elements.

    If you are concerned about screen space and you use Gboard, you can adjust the height in the preferences.

    I have tried to adjust the height of keyboard but it's still there.

    The space won't dissapear, but the keyboard will be higher or shorter.

    Clean the ports on the phone, charger and both ends of the USB cable with a fine dry toothbrush or non conductive wooden or plastic toothpick carefully

    But it does work like the that, it is accurate within a range, and will be representative across many devices.

    So as a guide it is very good way to get a handle on how a battery is functioning overall.
