Been there done that, cleared cache. Bought new cable
It's obvious Android 10 is having this issue across the board. Hoping 10.3.5 does it or I'm going back to 9

Check and clean the usb-c port on the phone more carefully, as the next step would be a visit to a service center.

Update to 10.3.5, then try the following.

    Do a Full Factory Reset

This will restore you to a fresh installation of Android. So you will need to backup your phone.

    After Backing up the phone.

    Go to Settings,
    System,
    Reset Options,
    Enable Erase Internal Storage.

Then click on the Delete All Data button.

Once done, use the phone for a couple of days without adding apps to check for issues with just the raw fresh OOS only.

Only introduce previous 3rd party apps gradually over 2 weeks to see if any particular app or apps drain the battery

For more info on how to backup your phone, check the solutions here.

Try to Optimize the phone, clear your recent apps, also set 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

Go through 2 to 3 charge cycles, leave on charge beyond full capacity for a couple of hours. Preferably overnight.

After a few days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.

Update to 10.3.5, then follow the steps in the post above yours.

My battery is phenomenal, 9+ hours SOT.

Today, still 73% left in the tank.

To be honest you are on a well old 10.3.1 rom, reviews make no difference. And many bugs have been ironed out in the 4 versions since.

Up to you if you want to give what I suggest a try.

Playing games like asphalt wont give you a good SOT anyway. Oneplus 6T hardware is 2 years old but it wont deny anything you run on it. But considering the modern day games your cpu and gpu would take a toll. Dont expect a extraordinary battery life, if you a game lover. But switching to latest software would help you get better security with latest security patch and support for upcoming updates.
