It says that it's updating, but no actual progress happens. I've left it for hours, and still nothing changed.

Possibly your network connection is just slow at the moment.

Try rebooting your device and trying again. If not try again later.

Alternatively you can download it yourself and install in via local upgrade.

But it does have the dreaded T-Mobile (USA) mega locked down bootloader. No way around that thanks to T-Mo.

You cannot change the T-Mo bootloader to global.

The issue is that there is some sort of built in security which cannot be removed even though it has been converted, it could be a hidden partition or something. Everyone who converted the TMobile has the Google Certification issue due to this security.

It has nothing to do with TMobile apps.

This is why there is a different version of OOS for TMobile devices.

Converting it allows you to install the Global rom, but it does have its issue. Check anywhere online for TMobile converted OnePlus phones and you will see anyone who has done it, ends up with the exact issues you see on your phone.

Download the full update, and install that, instead of the incremental update, do it manually via the zip files @rhyd1am has posted throughout the thread, or use Oxygen Updater.

If your phone has been converted, sure you can, but because of the TMobile Bootloader as @ironass has stated, then you will have certification issues with Google and other places you where you need to have a secure bootloader. Basically the converted International version creates a mismatch between the them.

Help you in what way exactly? There are lots of users here who are both willing and able to help with many issues. Without some specific information though, it's virtually impossible to help 🤷‍♂️

Check unlock status on fastboot mode.

I'm sorry for wasting everyone's time. It turns out I have an unlocked bootloader and I was able to boot into recovery. I bought my phone used. I was not given details as to what modification s it had only that it was a used Unlocked GSM One Plus 6T.
