is anyone else facing problems updating Chrome and Android Messages?

i have no problem updating other apps but when it comes to the two it's always "download pending" or it will start but never finish.

Clear the Playstore App info Cache and App info Storage as well.

    See if that helps.

Clear all Screen Locks, Pin, Fingerprint and Facelocks etc

Also clear all Smart Locks as well

    Restart the phone

    Setup the Fingerprint once more

    See if that helps

Then you have not cleared All the Screen Locks. Clear the pin, clear any Fingerprints, and Clear all Facelocks and any other Screen Locks.

Basically when you reboot the phone there should be no security requests for Pin, Fingerprint and Facelocks etc.

You then set it back up fresh in Security & Lockscreen

If its still giving issues, then backup your phone and do a full Erase All Data factory reset. To refresh the OOS.

    Go to Settings,
    System,

OnePlus don't give that info, however China specific Hydrogen OS usually comes out about a week prior to International Oxygen OS, so you may get an insight what to expect, about a week beforehand.

Next update will probably be at the end of this month, and will be Bug and Security updates. Doubt there will be features added until Android 11 is released for the 6 Series in Q2 next year.

Don't worry the update will happen. The issue is that google is now slowly releasing .apkm bundles which are kind of delta apk which misses some dependency packages that gets compiled during installation. This issue of some gapps not getting installed is because of that. Basically your downloading does not start as its trying to resolve those dependency but is not doing it well. Take for eg: new chrome installation needs a new app called trichrome library. So after few updates of other apps your these stuck apps will also get uploaded.

You can also try to use some other internet connection gateway as well. For me these worked a few times. I can't say exact problem as my phone is not rooted so can't check the logs.

You could also try the OnePlus Diagnostic tool, if it shows errors then you may need to do a a backup of the phone and then full Erase All Data factory reset to be sure its not the OOS. If it still persists then bring it to an Approved OnePlus service center to check the hardware.

You can run this tool to check if everything is working as expected by clicking on Detect Now.

Just follow the instructions on the screen.

    Download OnePlus Diagnostic tool.

Try to Optimize the phone, this helps with Lag, Heat, Battery Drain and much more.

Clear your recent apps, also set 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

Go through 2 to 3 charge cycles, leave on charge beyond full capacity for a couple of hours. Preferably overnight.

After a few days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.
