The 7 series devices have just received an update with security patches. It is safe to assume that the 6 series will follow soon. Last time I looked, the world still keeps turning even if your phone's security patches are a couple of months old.

Wait till an alien 👽 arrive on earth. Software or security patch updates everything depends on OnePlus Developers Team only. No one can't predict about updates. And currently OnePlus 8 series and 6 series haven't received stable update. Maybe they will release update to both devices at same time or Maybe a day difference. And currently whole OnePlus developers team is busy in packing software for their new products.

OnePlus 5/5t is in worst condition bcz of updates. So don't rush for updates let OnePlus fix all issues and release the update.

@Abdul B. It's been now over 2 months that we had no new update for op6/6T. I know you are under pressure with new device/products presentations, Android 11 oxygen os port etc. but that's not an excuse when it comes to older device update plan. You promised 3 years updates and after the 1st 2years updates every 2 months and you should follow it. Device maintenance is a major sell point for new devices, how can someone be convinced to spend 1000€ to buy a one plus device if he knows that after 2 years you will give software updates whenever you can?

As you know every user of OnePlus 6 series are eagerly waiting for updates and new features but as users we can't do nothing but to wait for updates to be released. And currently 5/5t series users are facing same issues as the company released update for 5 series they are facing lots of issues and Oneplus is currently trying to execute all bugs and issues for 5/5t series to release new Android 10 update 5 series. So we have to wait until all issues are cleared and For Global version updates they have to check compatibility issues and patches issues also. AND THESE THREADS ARE NOT MONITORED BY ONEPLUS. Only users are helping each other. Answers for your questions in this are given by OnePlus users not developers until you send a feedback or find OnePlus developers team Mail ID and send your issue directly to developers.

Sorry If I sound cynical but I don't care. Op 6 series used to be a flagship 2 years ago, it wasn't a mid range cheap drvice. They promised 3 years of monthly and bimonthly updates and they should deliver. Every other manufacturer are on schedule with their previous year's flagship devices. If they have to hire more people because they releasing more devices per year it's their problem not mine. I trusted them and I demand to keep their update plan they promised. These forums are monitored by op employees and the guy I tagged on my initial post is a staff member belonging to oxygen operations department.
