No I've not tried Chrome beta (at least not for a while). Mostly use Edge browser these days if I'm honest.

I'll give Chrome beta another go and see if I get any issues with it.

You can either wait for the OTA for 10.3.5 (which includes security patch). Or you can download the update and install it manually via local upgrade.

    Incremental update OnePlus 6

The point I am making is that Google know of this issue in Chrome, and its not the same for everyone. Its happening on many different devices. Google are working on a fix for it as stated and shown in the link I gave.

Yes, even just bringing up Recents and bringing the app back into ficus fixes it.

But it's not an exclusive 6 series issue. Some on Oneplus are not experiencing it either. But it is going to be fixed by Google for all manufacturers devices.

Same as I replied above users OnePlus 7 and 7T series have beta builds before they release update to stable builds they have to pass stability test in Closed beta builds (included developers and selected users). If they successfully passed stability test all stable builds will receive new update soon.

As mentioned in the first post... it's STAGED ROLLOUT it will take time to roll out globally.

Try change optimization for apps. Settings > Battery > Battery optimization Change optimization settings for apps. Change settings from Intelligent control to Optimise for kess using apps. And set intelligent control to the apps which you use most.
