Oneplus doesn't provide ETA for OTA update. And Because its a staged rollout, everyone will get it in a week or 2 .

As I said I don't experience your issue at all, and I use WhatsApp extensively. So I find the support for the older 6T fine.

I did suggest other steps there, but its up to you.

As your phone is configured personally for yourself, it's an impossible answer to give, everyone will have different experiences, read through the threads. Some get better battery, others not so much.

It all depends on how you use your phone. No 2 phones will ever be alike once they have been personalised by the user.

    Try it and see.

Works great on mine, but for every 10 greats you might get one not so great.

Only you can try it and tell us how it works out on your phone.

OnePlus prepares Android 11 Open Beta as final OxygenOS 11 preview build approaches

Android 11 is set to make its debut on Pixel devices in just a few weeks, and after that, we’ll be waiting on OEMs to perform the same update on their own handsets. Today, OnePlus has confirmed it will be launching the final OxygenOS 11 developer preview next week with the Android 11 open beta coming soon.

So all 8 series first, then roll down from there to OP6 series, maybe Q2 next year, maybe sooner who knows

As it says at the top of every update thread

"This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of"

All updates with OnePlus are rolled out in this way.

Try to Optimize the phone, clear your recent apps, also set 3rd party apps to Optimize in Settings Battery, only leave the ones you need run in the background or to notify you such as messages, email, Google Services, oneplus etc on Intelligent control.

Android may take a few days to optimize those apps after setting them to Optimize depending on your usage of those apps. A10 has its own learning curve.

Go through 2 to 3 charge cycles, leave on charge beyond full capacity for a couple of hours. Preferably overnight.

After a few days, Check App battery stats at about 50% and see if there are particular apps using more resources than necessary.

[e]2b07[/e]️[e]2b07[/e]️[e]2b07[/e]️If it is still heating, try the steps below and then repeat the steps above.[e]2b06[/e]️[e]2b06[/e]️[e]2b06[/e]️

    Do a Full Factory Reset

This will restore you to a fresh installation of Android. So you will need to backup your phone.

    After Backing up the phone.

    Go to Settings,
    Reset Options,
    Enable Erase Internal Storage.

Then click on the Delete All Data button.

Once done, use the phone for a couple of days without adding apps to check for issues with just the raw fresh OOS only.

Only introduce previous 3rd party apps gradually over 2 weeks to see if any particular app or apps drain the battery
