Need some advice. I was holding off to install the 10.3.6 version just to see if there are any issues. Decided to upgrade today and in preparation

wanted to clear the clutter before taking a full backup. In the process I think I deleted the OTA .tmp file and now it doesn't show me the new version available.

I am on 10.3.5 and it tells me my system is up to date. I have tried rebooting a few time but to no avail.

It's a Staged Rollout from Oct 12th. Possible it hasn't Staged to you yet. You can get it sooner using 3rd party app Oxygen Updater from the Playstore

Actually it was already available to me for the past week. Maybe I will give it a few days to see if it comes back.

In fact it was telling me that my OS is up to date even before the upgrade when I was on A9 still after I deleted that file so I had to download 10.3.5 from OnePlus website and do a local upgrade. I was getting the option to install 10.3.6 OTA until I deleted that file ☹️

That file should have no bearing on being offered OTA, that's just coincidence. It should recognise you are on 10.3.5 and then offer the update. But as I mentioned it may be that because it is Staged, they may not have completed the staging yet. They usually do it over a weekend so maybe you will be offered it by the end of next weekend

Nothing to do with servers, it's to ensure the version released is functioning correctly for as many as possible, so may a third the first week, check for issues, then another third, again time to check for issues and then the final third.

Generally it's rare there are issue, but it's just a cautious approach. Which seems reasonable.

If they dumped it out to everyone as many other manufacturers do, then issues arise, they will be widespread. And then you have a lot of angry customers.
