I'm glad that we are finally getting overdue updates, but can anyone explain to me why Apple and Google, with much larger exo systems, push out updates much quicker and across multiple generations of devices much better than OnePlus?

As mentioned in the first post and throughout this thread, IT'S INCREMENTAL ROLL-OUT, it will take time to reach every device as the updates are release randomly.
It will take 2 weeks more to roll out completely.
For faster updated you may follow this process, both this method and OTA are same,🙂
    Use Oxygen Updater from play-store
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater
    Or
You can install it manually (Incremental update)
    OnePlus 6

    OnePlus 6T (Incremental update)
    https://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amaz...9_OTA_048-049_patch_2011161944_ff7f5b9593.zip
    OnePlus 6T (Full update)
    https://otafsg1.h2os.com/patch/amaz...xygen_34.J.49_OTA_049_all_2011161944_5529.zip
Download the latest available OOS firmware zip from above.
Get the full firmware package from above for the OnePlus device and transfer the ROM file to the internal storage or phone storage. Place the zip file outside every folder.
Now go to Settings app > visit System updates > tap on the top right settings icon > choose Local Upgrade option.
The Local Upgrade option will search for an upgrade package.
Once you see an upgrade package, tap over it and then hit the install option.
The device will automatically reboot and perform an upgrade. First boot may take a while.😇

The solution is already mentioned many times in thread.

And various thread are already created.
    Use search options.
Here is the solution once again
Goto to settings > search > OnePlus > scroll down you will find 2 apps
    1) OnePlus Membership ( uninstall the update)
    2) OnePlus Account.
Clear the cache and storage of both app and reboot your device.
    Done😇

As per @B_Wrath pinned post on 10.3.3 thread

    https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/oxygenos-10-3-3-for-the-oneplus-6-and-6t.1218405/

If you can Backup your Download Folder

Delete the data and cache of downloads app and download manager. This should fix the problem.

Q: How to access the downloads and download manager app?
    A:
    Step 1: Unlock your phone.
Step 2: Open app drawer and locate settings app / bring down the QS panel and click on the gear icon.
Step 3: Click on the search tab on top of the settings app.
Step 4: Type "downloads" and then click on the app. Clear it's cache and storage which is under the storage tab.
Step 5: Type "download manager" and then click on the app. Clear it's cache and storage which is under the storage tab.

You're are incorrect , I didn't face any issue that you have mentioned.
I am getting 10+SOT with smooth performance.
How did you calculate the performance margin .😂
The device performance is based on your device settings and the app you use.
And same for the battery it depends upon the apps and the optimization of apps.😇
