I looked at some dark scenes of The Nun on Netflix just to see if I could notice some black crush before the update. Didn't see any then atleast. Haven't tried with this version though.
I had a long discussion and tried many examples together with a user on 7 Pro. He could find many issues with it. I barely none. Those very few cases I found was probably bad compression.
I do however have a lot of that crap on my computer. Lowest quality Netflix via Firefox on Linux.

It seems that OnePlus focuses a lot on India and EU over other countries that buy your products. it's not right and really needs to be corrected. All of your customers are important. Smh

On 7 series there was a mix... Sometimes late EU. Sometimes late International. Sometines even late EU on 7 and late International on 7 Pro.
Whatever reason they have it may change later on

you can find a test pattern in youtube when you search for "black crush test". If you can see all the squares with around 30% brightness in a dark room, then its fine. I can see maybe down to nr. 8.

ever since the new oxygen update my data has not been working on my OnePlus 7 Pro ...it'll keep turning off on its own in the middle of things like Google maps or Pokemon go

Why doesn't OnePlus publish these updates on the support page for download to let the users install them manually instead of waiting for a OTA update.
Wouldn't that be more practical? That way if you don't mind waiting for the update you can get it OTA, if you want, you would be able to download it form the company site and install it straight away.
Why isn't this common practice? Even in the markets where the OTA update is live you can only find the version 10.5.6 on their websites.

I don't know if you noticed, but this forum is for the OnePlus 8 phones. This specific thread is about the OnePlus 8 Pro. I promise that when any update information comes out about the OnePlus 7 Pro it won't be here, but I bet you can figure out which forum it WILL be in...

The files don't end up there until the rollout is considered finished. That way files that don't end up being finalized and being the subject of halted rollout don't end up there for everyone to grab. For good and for bad.
People that are willing to take the risk of installing software that might be recalled can simply use Oxygen Updater
