To OnePlus, please decrease the vertical spacing between app icons on the 8 pro. it's a large screen vertically and the 5*5 icon tray in the usable area of the home screen has too much gap, as does the 5*6 in the app drawer.

Or if not by default at least give an option in the home settings please.

    Please like if you agree.

    Thank you

It's one of the reasons I use Nova Launcher. I like my icons smaller and closer together.

Is there a way to manually update to 10.8 or 10.9 oneplus 8 pro ?

I don’t care much for the x ray cam

if you put the phone in a toilet and let the whole family take a dump it will update to 10.9 or 10.8 shortly afterwards . that's the only way people have managed to get it to update as OnePlus don't care and aren't doing anything to fix issues and update the phones firmware .

    Touchscreen Multitouch / Sensitivity issue.

I have just switched from OP7pro to OP8pro and have 2 issues (this firmware) - I wonder if they indicate a hardware issue?

Touch sensitivity is much lower e.g. keyboard and swipes and there seem to be false touches if try to type fast (the swipe line appears for no reason). screen protector off.

There are a max of 3 Multitouch points (screenshot gesture switched off).

    Appreciate opinions?

I have exactly the same problem, but in my opinion it will not be solved because no one from the company mentions this problem

if you're willing to risk it I'm sure there's a link to the manual download. Now note 10.5.9 just disabled the camera only in error... and if you're in NA the 10.5.8 was never released for those models...I'll probably recommend you wait it out until the next official upset is released.

How did you test the multi touch? I tested 10 multipoint touches.

Hi thanks, yes I used that and get 3 touches max almost all of the time. (The screenshot gesture is off). However, rarely all 10 points can briefly be activated and I can't say why (I haven't changed anything). It's very unusual. I did a full factory reset and still the same.

Also missing many screen touches e.g. typing, and ghost touches e.g. extra keys being activated when tying , including the other side of the keyboard. This persists all the time and typing is very difficult.

I have to assume it's a hardware / digitiser issue if others don't have these symptoms. That's what I was hoping to find out.

10.5.8 was 100% release for North America.
10.5.9 was the mistake update not available to many with the only change according to the change log was disabling the IR camera..

Don't waste time looking for 10.5.9 as it add nothing of value.

I'm on 10.5.8 EU firmware. Might be hard to messup so much that max 3 multipoints only work via software. No impossible but I doubt it. So it's more credible that it's a hardware issue.
I might have a slight touch issue, for example A button. But that might be something I just need to get used to and the problem goes away by itself.

I have tried myself and 10 simultaneous touches are no problem with my phone on 10.5.8 (haven't tried more due to lack of fingers)

Was sitting in the sun today. In direct sun light and maximum brightness. Pretty hot (for Sweden atleast, 20°C according to the weather rapport). Since I read about some with heat issues in similar temperatures and direct sun light I figured I might get the same. No issues at all.
Also desided to run a thermal throttling test. Nude (the phone. Not me). Inside approx 22°C.
Fairly decent. Hot peaks. Even after 15 minutes still pleasant to hold. Biggest preformance drop was due to some background activity. End result was well beyond acceptable to me. With decent ambiant temperature this seems fairly OK for gaming.
