You're not alone!!! I too haven't received the update yet. Maybe they paused the broader roll out of the update due to negative feedbacks. I hope to receive it sooner once OnePlus fix the bugs and other issues.

Hello good folks of the community!
See this prompt, it's laying here since a week now.

This is the third time I got the notification. I had updated the OS to the new version, used for a good 1.5-2 weeks and then reverted to OOS 10.3.8 on my OnePlus 7, thrice!!!

Hear me out. Please do not rush in updating your device to this version. I have written few posts in this community as to the bugs I'm experiencing and reported to the Dev's.

I couldn't bear the OS any further. I had all my data backed up in cloud, so factory reset is not a problem. OOS 10.3.8 is by far the best OP has published for this handset.

To my surprise, my trusty old Nexus 7 from 2013 handles Android 11 with Lineage OS just fine, even with ancient hardware. I use it as my Kindle and occasional YouTube. Point being, OnePlus 7 series can last a long way!

See, technology should work for you and not the other way round. If the device works well in OOS 10.3.8, I would urge not to update to the latest flavour of OOS yet. Kindly bear with the dated security patch. It would turn out to be better than fussing over new jitters/bugs that the new OS introduces.

Closing thoughts: There are few elements in the UI that I greatly appreciate. Personally, I wouldn't mind too much using the new UI, given it's snappy and responsive (barring few instances in OOS If I were you, I would seriously wait for them to iron out the bugs before jumping on the new update now. The SoC, IMO is still relevant and can easily last a couple of years more, given OnePlus doesn't mess around with the OS releases any further.

Even I would like to go back

I hear you! I have done this thrice after updating to OOS 11.

Following is the procedure to downgrade to OOS 10.3.8. It works for me, but hear me out. It will WIPE the entire device! Please proceed if you are ready to go ahead with a fresh install like this. There's no workaround, sadly.

    1. Search for rollback package for OnePlus 7/7pro on the internet and download the zip file, move it to root folder, not in the downloads folder.

    2. Go to settings, hit local update and you should click the file you had just downloaded. a word of caution, it will factory reset the device, make sure you have a backup.
    3. Your phone should now be running OOS 9.5.2, Android 9!
    4. Download Oxygen updater app from play store now.
    5. It will help you download OOS 10.0.3, if I remember correctly, it's a patch update to have your device on board with Android 10.
    6. Once that's done, you should get an OTA for OOS 10.3.8. If not, manually search for update in settings.
    7. That's it! It's good old 10.3.8!

    Hope, this helps! Good day!
