Well do forgive me, I've only been a OnePlus user for around a year, and I heard so many good things about OnePlus, like for example, they listen and interact with their users, witch is why I bought a OnePlus in the first place, so either they've changed or I've been lied to. Maybe a bit of both? IDK! 🤔
(I'm being truthful here, so this is not a joke)

    Then your guess is wrong.
If a change of the update is necessary due to findings during the rollout, it becomes a NEW update.

So even if so you, would get that new one again faster via Oxygen updater.

So the choices are the same.
Only the risk of having to do an extra update is slightly larger 😀

If you wait for OTA you might skip a halted/retracted one.

On the google play-system security update issue did the check on the rest of the modules.
I found 2 mainline apks that have a changed version number since my previous check

    com.google.mainline.telemetry versionCode:302200201
    com.google.android.modulemetadata versionCode:302200806

This probably is as expected since these were mentioned in the security bulletins for the month we missed.

We have not got the September update that was released 2 days ago.

    Google Play system updates
The following issues are included in Project Mainline components.

    Component CVE
    Media Codecs CVE-2021-0690

lets hope we are now able to do the regular manual update for it in the coming week.
If it fails again I suspect that we do not get the google play-system updates direct from Google as it is supposed to work but via a Oneplus path.
That would make me a unhappy customer.
