My advice is quite simple to follow: Do not update!

I find that with each update my 8T is working crappier. Stutters, jitters, lag in the UI (scrolling, playing simple games like chess for no reason is becoming infuriating when moving a piece becomes a performance challenge for the phone - Chess is NOT League of Legends). Optimized charging does not work. Camera quality is still crap. Macro mode non-existent.

Just stay put and hope that one of these days OnePlus pushes out a proper update that is also and improvement over the previously best OS version instead of being a beta guinea pig for a phone that has only a half-baked OS support. I do not understand what OnePlus are doing - are they artificially crippling a superior phone so that their flagship makes more sense? Major disappointment for me to see a company starting to devour itself with very questionable strategic moves.

I notice that many are dissatisfied with some aspects of the phone, maybe some are not aware, but some problems are not from oneplus and the firmware used, it is true that some are directly related to the firmware from oneplus, for example the camera part, I am generally satisfied with this phone, it is a phone not a DSLR device :), my only and big dissatisfaction at the moment is the fact that VOLTE and VOWIFI do not work and here in proportion of 100% responsible is Oneplus, we are talking about a phone here and one of the main functions is to facilitate communication between people, we arrived in 2020 to talk about 5G but we do not have basic VOLTE and VOWIFI functions.

Cannot disagree more - just because we're using an archaic term "phone" (albeit a "smart" one) to refer to this product this implies nothing about the practical aspects of this piece of technology. It is all but a phone as you obtusely decide not to acknowledge.
When people complain about a feature of it that is underwhelmingly implemented or an apparent downgrade in functionality between OS updates then therlse are substantial points of customer satisfaction. We have every right to demand our hardware to perform to the limit of it's capability nbecause that is what we pay for.

I partially agree with you, however I do not consider this word "phone" to be archaic,
from my personal perspective by "phone" I define the hardware part with all the related technologies 2G / 3G / 4G / GPRS / EDGE / LTE / VOLTE / VOWIFI and so on, you brought up the word "smart", because I still gave an example above related to the camera, look we have software from google (gcam) is a "smart" product that everyone wants because it works wonders with most hardware components so this piece is very "smart" :) , I totally agree with you when you say that you want there to be satisfaction at the buyer level and for the fact that you want the "smart" part to be at the limits of hardware capabilities (aka "perform to the limit") but from my point of view the reality is that phone manufacturers sell phones and do not sell the "smart" part, it is in their interest anyway that cyclically the phones are renewed with other models, new sales new revenue, so personally I see the "smart" part as an advertisement to sell the "phone", however how good the "smart" part is the "phone" part sells better. Anyway my goal from the initial comment was to improve the "phone" part (VOLTE/VOWIFI) which for me personally is very important, but that doesn't mean I don't respect your point of view.

What is the connection that is established when you make a call from your OnePlus device? If its not VoLTE or VoWIFI, please check you SIM settings, it could have been disabled in the SIM connectivity settings.

it's a bit more complicated problem, indeed the volte / vowifi part has to be supported by both the operator and the phone, as an idea if I use the sim in another phone it works, in oneplus it doesn't work, by default there are no such options in the phone, I activated them but without success no volte/vowifi, they still have to match on a global or individual operator profile, which must be implemented by oneplus, more simply said if the match was made from the start there was no need to activate the options volte / vowifi from logkit, so the problem is with oneplus. At some point changes could be made through PDC/efstools and so on, but even this option has disappeared on new firmware from oneplus ( on 8/8pro ) and i think it was not possible from the beginning on 8T. But i hope that in the future updates to have this options available.

You can check this way : call *#*#4636#*#* from there go to "Phone information" select your sim number then press upper right dots then select "IMS service status" there you can see status for Volte/Vowifi ...at my end said "unavailable" ..and no it's not a sim problem or operator problem, it's a oneplus (firmware) problem.

New update literally reduced the SOT. Battery draining like crazy. Hardly getting 4- 4.5 SOT. Getting same SOT as my 3 year old OP5. Occasionally navigation gestures freezes. C'mon OnePlus you can do better. Really miss my old OP5. Even after the buggy Android 10 update it is so much better than OP 8T.

Hi, I have been using the updated version from past few days, I have noticed few issues-

    1. When the connected WiFi strength is weak and the Phone is under standby or any app which does not use continuous wifi works fine, but the moment u use apps that uses continuous network when connected to wifi(like Netflix or any game), the wifi keeps disconnecting and does not rejoin automatically often.

    2. Battery drain is observed but not much, however when u charge the phone using 65W charger without using the device meanwhile, the device becomes a bit warm when Fully charged .

    3. The vision comfort mode keeps flickering a bit between the warm screen and normal screen when you start typing anything in browser (chrome), or when you lock and unlock your screen

    4. When any app is closed and you scroll down the notification bar, the icons seems to vanish and appear back when you pull the bar further or automatically sometimes after 2 seconds, i have plenty space on my phone with no apps or minimum apps running in background. T
his keeps on happening when you use apps the changes your screen orientation, i.e change your phone screen to horizontal from vertical and vice versa. In my case I observed it when I was using COC. I reboot the phone couple of times, but the bug is still there. I am sharing a screenshot of the same.
