OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 for the OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7T Dec 23, 2021

    1. Battery Drain happening way faster than earlier. I have wifi on all day and 10hours screen time. Earlier 2 charges upto 80% would take me through day but now it needs a third charge cycle.

    2. Whatsapp crashing and not able to directly capture photo from Chat's camera feature (like you are messaging and they say send a photo, I am unable to do) so I have to go to Camera click and then upload to Whatsapp.

    3. Performance Lag -
    - It ain't smooth any more
    - apps crashing, loading time more
    - recent app drawer sluggish

    4. Overall experience had gone bad with this update. It doesn't seem stable at all.

    5. I heard, downgrading to Android 10 would delete all my personal files and apps with app data (can't afford that), simple backup and restore won't work6. I can't located my call recording through file manager I need to transfer it to My computer for sharing.

    7. MX Player app crashing after playback of video/ audio for 10-50 seconds, automatically. Everytime. Tried cleaning cache nothing seems to be helping.

    8. Gallery is buggy, very slow preview load and certain images not seen, no thumbnail and deleting selected files (say 10 images) takes time unlike earlier.

    Solve this issue.... oneplus....

    To be honest I was facing some of the issues that you r having. I will try to answer some of them.

    1. my battery was also draining too fast. I checked my battery health with Oneplus diagnostic app and found my battey health to be 74% which is very low for a already low capacity battery i.e. 3800mah
    2. Same thing happens to me sometimes but closing whatsapp and opening it again fixes it for me. even thought its not a permanent solution but by doing this i was able to click pics.
    3. Performance is a major issue in android 11 update. Sometimes phone becomes so slow that even swiping sidewise lags. For this i tried switching my refresh rate from 90 to 60 and than again 60 to 90. For me it works everytime. I don't know, its my screen issue or phone itself.
    4. I totally agree with you with this statement. This update is not a solid stable update for everyday user. I myself won't recommend anyone to update to a11 for now.
    5. Ya its true that rolling back to a10 will wipe all the data. You can backup almost everything with Oneplus backup app in settings. But its really time consuming.

    7. If I'm correct your are using modded version of mx player. I tried that last year 😜. I got so frustrated that i bought mx player pro and x player pro from play store. But yes it crashes(bonus tip: now its fixed search again). And you will be spared for not knowing that it was the apps problem with a11 not 7t software problem.
    8. Previewing photos in gallery is not slow for me like you complained. But yes deleting the photos takes forever.

    New update new issues
    1. Heating issues
    2. WhatsApp photo capture goes black screen, if not the picture is zooming out
    3. System is lagging, too sluggish
    4. Battery life was 5 hours previously but nkw hardly 4 hours
    5. Sound quality is dropped

    Cache removal and reboots helps for sometime for smooth use

    Anyone has this issue?
    My finger print scanner doesn't work on locked apps. It works to unlock the phone and that's about it. It doesn't work for any other apps that I've put a lock. I have to use the pattern to unlock those apps.
    Plus the phone lags a lot after usage of 1-1.5 hours continuously. It feels as if I'm using a phone from the 2010s. It's that slow and it lags that much! 😩

    Please tel me I'm not the only one facing these issues!

    How to install OOS11 to keep the Google Play System Update up to date.

    Make sure to back up important files on your phone before installation.

    1) Install OTA OOS10 downgrade version suitable for your phone.
    2) After installing and booting the phone, add only one gmail account that you use as primary. Don't add any other accounts to Gmail.
    3) Skip all other setups, don't add fingerprint, only add password.
    4) Don't update the app in the google store.
    5) Go to Settings - Security and Lock screen and click on - Google Play system update. (if you don't see this item, please wait a few moments)
    6) After downloading the update, confirm restarting the phone
    7) After rebooting, go back and check the date of Google Play System Update
    8) Run the Oxygen Updater application - download the latest version (FULL OTA) OOS11 for your phone - install via system OTA (don't do WIPE after installation anymore!)
    9) After installation, do the setup but don't add other accounts to Gmail. Now update all the apps in the google store. Don't add a fingerprint.
    10) Repeat steps 5), 6) and 7).
    11) After restarting the phone, you can add more accounts and fingerprint.

    This method works for me 100% every time.

    After updating getting refresh rate drop very frequently...also fingerprint is not working for app locker..please fix these issues ASAP its really frustrating
