and... if these steps still do not help... factory reset the device - which always workd for me, 99% of the issues raised in this forum do not appear to me

I have around 20 apps running in the background plus the app management is getting really good after few updates. Maybe try clearing cache partition.

Well, did you read the title? This is a post for the OnePlus 8 series, not Nord... No-one will be able to assist you with Nord related things in here...

Now I see what you mean, it don't bother me because I have not set it to home screen only. But I understand your opinion

People, I recommend (not first and probably not last time o_O) please do this after every update (it doesnt matter which device you have from oneplus):

    1. wipe cache (not all data, beware!) through recovery: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/oneplus/oneplus-8-pro/wipe-cache/:smirk:

    2. if doesnt help, reinstall oneplus launcher from apkmirror and do wipe cache again

    3. try update again - through local upgrade method- download zip update, copy file to root directory in device and from settings do system local update (3 points menu) :relaxed:

    4. if still there are some problems, do hard reset through recovery - at first back up all data, because you will lost them by reset! https://www.hardreset.info/devices/oneplus/oneplus-8-pro/ (or also named factory reset https://www.hardreset.info/devices/oneplus/oneplus-8-pro/hardreset-second-method/ ) like said swolfman :fearscream:

I agree with this regarding having problems, but this shouldn't be normal for regular users of an Oneplus phone after an update.

You can disable that in settings.
Security and lock screen>screen lock>tap the settings wheel>disable quick settings panel on lock screen
