How do you know that you have heating problem? I mean, does your phone heat while playing games, or does it just heat up during normal usage? And what temperature does it reach?

Good to have security update within a few days of Google release. Hope all OnePlus update problems re over and we will get back to timely updates.

Seems like some of hesitency in opening apps might be fixed also.

I would add to check for misbehaving app before doing hard reset. That's really last resort option.

Do this for better battery backup:

    Turn ON pocket mode.
    Turn off Location.
Turn off Wifi and Bluetooth Scanning.
Turn off all the switches from Wifi Preferences.
    Turn off AOD.
Turn ON all the swtiches from Battery Optimizations > Advanced Optimizations.
    Turn off Dual-channel Network acceleration.

Only turn these on when needed.

You can also try battery calibration:

My advice would be go into battery optimization and optimize literally EVERYTHING that isn't part of System. You'll still get notifications. It says. ".. Notifications might be effected by restricting background usage" or whatever their phrasing was. That's BS. You still get notifications from all of the apps you use daily.

You can turn those ON when needed. Doing this will improve SOT surely. Like you dont need location turned ON all the time and related bluetooth/wifi scanning even when they are turned off.

Optimizing all apps improves battery immediately. That's what he's concerned about. I still get Twitter, Facebook and all game notifications. There's literally no reason to not optimize everything. You saw my stats. Over 5 hours of screen on time and 7 hours since full charge. That's with handling work, playing games and my socials. Just try it out.

You need location on for everyday use. Professionally speaking, I use location a ton. It's not that big of a drain battery wise. I set almost every app as use location only while using *insert app here*

If you use location then turned it ON. But I dont think the location related wifi and Bluetooth scanning is needed while I intentionally turned those off from their individual settings. Also I have not any battery issues. I get more than 7hrs SOT. And yes you are right about the optimize battery for every app. That will improve further surely.
