Motion smoothing in this device is software based, it will not work as good as the one we find in tv's which is hardware based.
So i guess It is working on it's full potential.

Ambient display remains on after moving the device, It doesn't go off after a few seconds like it usually does. And this might damage the display. It happens most of the time. however always on ambient display works fine (I've set a schedule) please fix this issue - Leander

I have updated to the latest software, previously had no issues with my finger print reader, the problem started after the update, it's consistently telling me I have to use my password since my prints are not recognized

    Hello,
After the update my wifi connection has slowed down considerably. The mobile data works similar as before but wifi has become slower. My router and ISP is the same, yet the issue persists.
Therefore, please tell me a.solution to this situation.

    Regards,
    Siddhant

Finally, after this update i didn't face any heating issues and battery drain.
But the camera quality is very poor. Very poor picture quality as compared to the other flagships. Please fix this basic issues with the camera on next update. OP please focus on your flagship phone instead of TV, watch and other stuffs.

If you are updating OOS for the OnePlus 8 (my device) or any other device, always "Wipe Cache" and do a complete Factory Reset after the update. I have always made it a point to do so after every substantial or incremental update and have never faced any of the numerous bugs or complaints mentioned in this or previous forums.
After an update, go into the recovery menu and:
    1) Wipe Cache
    2) Factory Reset the entire phone (not just settings)
    3) Wipe Cache again

Only then boot into the device and restore your phone from a Google Backup. Its a pain to have to repeat this process after every update however this method has never failed me. I used a OnePlus 3T for 4.5 years in the past and practiced the same updating method. Even back then, I never experienced any of the bugs that were being reported.

So its worth a try and hopefully it helps solve any major grievances with the phone that you might currently be experiencing.

Yeah but we really shouldn't have to do that once every two months. That's a ridiculous amount of work.

I agree and it is about an hours worth of work depending on how good are your backing up practices and internet speeds to restore all your content. However it works though, so I usually perform the updates only if I have nothing to do for the next hour or two, otherwise I hold off till I find the time.
