Basically oxygen updater only provides you the actual update file. Installation goes via manual update in settings, which is essentially the same process as installing a received OTA. So I don't see how you managed to screw it up, but it doesn't seem to be oxygen updaters fault.

Actually this is the ONLY ISSUE of the new firmware release (almost everything else works perfectly).
But some spooky developer thought to play with us (the Guineea pigs) by whitening the icons. Which makes them unreadable, of course.

There's no way to downplay the background color, we're all waiting for the wise guy to put back the black color.

Oxygen Updater HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why are so many people so STUPID?
I have been using Oxygen Updater for literally years and never had an issue...In fact my 8T works great!
Oxygen Updater ONLY gives you the ability to get the ACTUAL UPDATE from OnePlus earlier than you can get it using the OTA method!
The ONLY downside there may be to using Oxygen Updater is that you may get an update that has BUGS in it whereas waiting for the OTA may get you a "fixed" update. Either way the update itself comes from OnePlus!
I hate ignorance as it spreads like a cancer among other ignorant people!!!!

    to get it back,

Settings > Customisation > Accent Colour and pick from one of the presets, or hit "customisation " to the bottom left and pick anything you want

At last my phone arrived today late in the afternoon. my phone is now charging perfectly as it should. i hope this time nothing happens to this phone. apart from being already opened twice since i got it in october i don't really have anything to complain about the repair. it's done profesionally under oneplus standards. i would be more than glad to repair my phone again at CTDI REGENERSIS in Poland. Things happen and sometimes we are the unfortunate ones but there is always a fix for anything. keep up the good work oneplus. Really good customer service 👍.

949 answers about the update, just read them. And then - how are we supposed to know which version you have, since it is not only one?

The UK is no longer in the EU so may take quite a while to arrive - if it does at all.
There could also be implications for in warranty ( and other) servicing where things will take longer, and you could be charged additional import tax ( customs/duty) as well as VAT ( 20%) based on what the device is worth and a handling fee on top just to get your device back, as the oneplus service centre is in Poland
