What version are you on currently?
You will have to check for updates manually in system > system updates.

This is a known issue, some times it occurs after update.
    What is your current version?
    Did you try to update?

    Yes.
This issue started to occur last year when people installed beta versions of OOS 11.
You can try to turn on your phone.
It will restart 2-3 times "on it own"..
    This is the easiest fix.

Try to restart once and test by booting in safe mode also.

You can try to reset network settings. In some cases it helps.

Ok. Wait for a few days , might automatically solve. But I doubt🤷
    1) Try to do a restart occasionally.
    2) Reboot in safe mode and see if the issue is present.

I want the previous version back. Gmail notifications not working, camera crashes occasionally, some apps not syncing, Playstore not automatically updating apps. I've tried all kind of fixes apart from a factory reset. Now they announce support is over and left with a buggy phone, not impressed OnePlus ☹️

Yes , these are the well-known issues in OOS 11 update.
You can find links for 10.3.8 (stable) and also 10.3.12.
It would clear all your data.
Try to back up your data using OnePlus Switch. And store on your computer.
Although, your launcher config would be lost.

You can also try to reset after you have made a backup of everything.
    It might solve. Idk. 🤷
Before than try one more experiment..
Remove your Google acc and then add again after restart.

Thanks for the replies. One of the things I tried a few times was deleting the Google account and rebooting. This worked with fixing the Gmail issue for a few days before the issue returned. I'm now using Outlook as an email client for Gmail as it's the only way I've found as a workaround
