This is true. My opinion is no more or less valid than anyone elses

I can use my OnePlus Phones one handed with the careful placement of the icons and a phone grip on the back of the case. I only have medium size hands, so the grip helps me avoid dropping the phone.

AOD is available on a few phones and personally I could care less about it, but I'm all for giving people what they want as long as it's done in a tasteful way.

I'd prefer it if OnePlus could have done one hand support as an option and maintained the minimal skin as well, but that's not a realistic expectation.

What do you have to say about taking inspiration from Samsung and not coming up with something original.
No offense, I still love OP BUT with all its originality and not this.

You have already bought the phone that's where the money comes from not the UI, you can't return the phone and get your money back so you choosing to like or not like the new UI is of little concern to OP.

More than that, he was totally right, and it gave some perspective on the hard choices a growing company has to make to stay relevant.

This video below of him is also interesting as it addresses the current situation Oneplus is in, with Oppo basically a competitor now.

If OnePlus really thinks that this stolen design and features will help their OS become more original, then Pete Lau has put together some wrong team. The originality of OOS was not in the fact that it stood out among the stock Android OS's, but in the fact that, unlike EMUI, MIUI and ONEUI, it was closest to the origins and was least overloaded without unnecessary garbage. And now, with one update, they just put it on with the same line with EMUI, MIUI and ONEUI. But with their budget, they simply won't handle it, like a Samsung, Huawei or Xiaomi.

You may be right SteveCP, but speaking for myself, my loyalty to OnePlus is as much based on the OS as it is on the phone hardware. While OnePlus makes its money from the hardware, like all hardware, it's as much use as a chocolate teapot without an OS. Therefore in a crowded market OnePlus needs a compelling reason for customers to buy their phone over another.

By creating a virtual clone of the One UI, it may well win a chunk of customers from Samsung, but how may of their loyal customers are they willing to sacrifice?

If new OP customers recently attracted by the terrific hardware, coupled with a light skin that enhances Android are turned off by OxygenOS 11, there will be no reason to upgrade to a newer OnePlus in the future. Samsung will benefit.

Go to the 8 series forum and read the first few posts of the DP3 thread, if you still have issues then I can assist.
