it is a beta test OS, nothing to do with Indian or global version. As it says in the opening post:
Please keep in mind that this is beta software. These builds are not as stable as our official OTAs. By installing this update, you accept the potential risks.

the only difference here is the lack of India only features like Red Cable Club.

    Hello,
Not being a specialist in English, I use Google Translate.
I have read all the articles and congratulate those who answer the questions asked.
I notice that many do not understand or do not want to understand, in the title it is well written that it is for Oneplus 8 Series. So Oneplus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro, everything is said.
It is an open Beta version, so a version that is already quite stable, you just have to report (Feedback) in case you notice any bugs.
Some people have the patience to say copy the file to the root directory and remove the .jar. Personally I have not had this problem.
I am using this Beta 1 and haven't noticed any bugs until now.
I just gave my agreement to validate Android auto when I connected the smartphone via usb to my VW. This is also normal because it is in a way a new system version. The Oneplus weather has also changed in appearance but for good and without doing anything then only in the Beta. The battery seems to me better in use because I read Google news and I consumed almost nothing compared to Android 10.
I also want to thank the one who explained that if we install the open Beta 1 the personal data will not be erased, even if we install the stable version. To sum up what he said and which is perfectly true, any higher version doesn't erase anything, but if it's a rollback it equates to a reset, which is normal.
Thanks to all who give interesting information.
For the others I would politely say if you don't have a Oneplus 8 or Oneplus 8 Pro then this is not the right thread, so don't put unnecessary comments.

Hello everyone. I have a problem with open beta 1 and android 11. I have two SIMs with volte and vowifi enabled. These options work perfectly on my first SIM, but with the second it causes problems. I explain myself when I receive calls, I cannot hear my interlocutor. I have to switch to hands-free mode, and then switch back to speakerphone mode for the phone to restore normal sound. Have you been confronted with this? With Android 10 no such problem

Most often, with very few exeptions, beta to stable wipes. Even if installing a stable of newer date over an older beta. This has been the normal behavior ever since 7 series.

There appear to be some unnecessarily aggressive users on this forum, so I ask this question with some reservation, but...

While following the instructions provided by One+ to load the beta software, I noticed I don't have an icon in the upper right of the software update screen that I would use to load my local OTA. Is this because I purchased my phone through T Mobile (meaning it's locked)?

I have seen this bug rapported before. But I don't recall if this was on 9/10/11 or all of them.
Maybe you should report this via the feedback tool with carrier specific info and log file. Select the most suitable cathergory and replicate the issue.

This is because of that you have an T-mobile phone. They handle their own software and can't use Oneplus standard updates. The only way this is possible is if you convert it to global version.
Otherwise you would need to apply for a T-mobile beta whenever they open that up. But if I recall correctly they do it pretty limited and not open like this beta

Thank you very much for the helpful response and the the quick reply.

This is my first One+ handset and I'm not familiar with the beta procedures.

you need to open it in a web browser, not in the community app
click on the three dots in upper right corner and choose "Open in browser"

One more question for you - you mentioned switching to the global version of the OS. Are you able to direct me to a resource on how to do that?

The opening post also mentions not suitable.for Indian users and thus will be addressed in a future update. So whilst this is a global release it isn't optimised for Indian devices
