[Official Announcement] [ColorOS Early Access Edition] ColorOS 11 for OnePlus 8/8 Pro update announcement
    https://www.oneplusbbs.com/thread-5961073-1.html

There's also the official announcement, I don't think we get any other updates since this...at least not as the previous update plan (I know it's for OnePlus 8 series, but they will get in June and the 7 series will get it in September)

The ditching of older devices by OnePlus still continues... Android 12 beta rolled out to the 9 series only...8T gets the axe even being so closely launched..
Just imagine being the owner of a 7 series! 🙂

Wait, what? I just said "that's how it always is." New phones get the most-recent builds of Android since that's the current year's flagship. 7 Series got Android 10 first, 8 got 11 first, now 9 gets 12 first.

9 series and the 8T were launched closely... From a practical standpoint it could have been released to it also. 7 series is having a tough time with the updates of Oxygen OS 11.. Even much less reputed companies are doing better at delivering updates. It's sustaining a trust of delivering the goods that keeps you in the good books. Ditching them for the worst does the contrary. You should not just stop giving updates when it's not even fully stabilised as per the build. Android 11 in its entirety has not yet been delivered to the 8 and 7 series. New phones should get the most recent builds of Android since that's the current policy.. That's true... But it also should not be at the cost of older phone standing halfway

Do you remember when they had to push three or four updates to constantly fix items on Android 10? (10.0 -> 10.0.1 > 10.0.2 > split to 10.3.0 and 10.0.3) that took a few weeks?

Even when such are the cases proper communication should be ensured on the nature of the progress of such. The users should be given an idea as to when it would be delivered. Rather than keep them in the dark for two months.

Think about it.. The 9 series has three variants which are the Pro, non Pro and the Racing for Indian users. Out of which only the two got a preview. Which again got unexpectedly bricked during the process. Even other companies got it right, for example Xiaomi getting it for their top three latest devices. When you have to do it, better do it right. I only mentioned the 8T since it was launched close to the 9 series.
