Is anyone else hearing some static noises when you open camera app?
All you have to do is open the camera and you can hear some low volume noises from the speaker, but only when the camera app is in use. No video, just using photo is enough to hear it.

I'm still fairly new to the OP 8 Pro having come from a 7T, but aren't beta updates monthly and stable every other month? If so....same old delays as on 7T with beta updates even....sigh...I think I'm just going to hop on board Lineage at this point to ensure I get updates on time.

This is due to how wi-fi security is handled in android 11:
"Android 11 will no longer let you connect to some enterprise WiFi networks" https://www-xda--developers-com.cdn.../android-11-break-enterprise-wifi-connection/
I'm pretty sure there is an option under the 'CA Certificate' setting called "do not validate". If you select that option (if it's there), you should be able to connect.
I have this problem with my Pixel 4XL on my workplace wi-fi. It won't connect as the option above has been removed, but my 8 Pro can connect as it still has the option.

and even worse, once this update moves to stable, we'd be stuck on April update for another two months

Welcome to the slow update club pal. This is what happens when a company starts to think about profit more than consumer value. As soon as the OP 10 series drop next year, the updates are gonna come once in 5 or 6 months. I'm saving up for the next iPhone, sure they charge a lot but at least Apple has always been consistent with their updates.

it is very sure that new fps meter in games is a game changer, waiting for it to release on other devices

The thing is their all software releases are very basic and coming with pre included bugs and they'll keep fixing those bugs in upcoming updates. But outsiders feel that OnePlus is very good in releasing software updates. Only we the users know if those are realy significant.

Not have to, but better to. Practically you can update to stable when the next comes out
