    Hey everyone,

We just rolled OxygenOS MM update globally (yah!) and I thought this would be a good time to open up another Q&A thread to answer some of your questions about the update. As usual, we'll keep this thread open for 24 hours and I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.

    Thanks

Some people in the xda community are commenting on the fact that you are missing commit history from the device tree and kernel that you launched, what was the reason for that?

I'll just ask a burning question within about all OnePlus communities: are you ever going to go full open source with OOS?

    Q1. Why so late ?

Q2. What's the update schedule for the OPX ? If there's any.

Q3. Will the OPO get an updated OxygenOS build ?

Q4. How many months for the OP2 (2016 flagship killer) to get the Android N update after Google drops it ?

    @Helen

Awhile back you promised news updates about development every other week. This never happened.
    1. Why?
    2. Can it be done now?

Bonus question: what were the main issues that lead to the delay of Marshmallow? Spare no details! ;)

Hey @Helen congratulations on the OOS MM release :)

Going forward how frequently are you going to update OOS w.r.t the monthly security patches?

OxygenOS will not be open sourced. However, we are releasing the kernel and the device tree to the community for development.

    Hi,
Thanks Helen for this new Q&A session and thanks to the team to provide a very improved OS.

Are you going to provide monthly updates as you did for the Lollipop version of OxygenOS, at least to implement security updates and maybe some new features?

And a noob question : why was it necessary to change the bootloader with MM builds of OxygenOS? It seems it was not mandatory as customs roms worked with the old one in their MM versions ?

    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks @Helen

Q: Can OnePlus Dev team provide an official guide to those users who are experiencing bootloop on how to resolve the problem?

Although there are many on the forum helping, your MM thread is being inundated with bootloop issues so an official guide would be ideal.

Currently you have only 3 phone release and you can't stay on your deadline providing update than what happens when you will reach 4-5 device on your hand..

BTW Oxygen OS 3.0.2 is snappiest OS ever.
