No you won't as you already rooted your phone. A rooted OnePlus phone does not get OTA updates. You need to flash it yourself.

yes, thats sRGB mode and that is why even nexus 6p had it in the developers settings. true colors dont look good to us 95% consumers.

Not received my OP3 yet but is it correct in saying , even after the OTA update is applied you still need to switch on the new colour settings? I would've thought once this update is installed they would automatically default the phone to this new settings or is this not the case?

Yes. sRGB is option is not default. You can activate it in developer settings.

    Of course, that's the strategy.
They bring some updates shortly after launch, so that customer complaints are silenced and sales remain high.
When, after a few months, sales decline (as they unevitably will since new and even better phones will come out), releasing further updates make little sense commercially for the company. The better way for them is releasing a new device.
    Simple as that.
This way it will be with the OP3 also, that's for sure.In this context, allowing rooting and 3rd party ROMs without losing warranty is the best Oneplus can do...

The big is that your ringer goes silent. It has a weird fix though which I can't remember ATM.

No, you'll have to go into your developer settings, click 'build number' seven times, and then manually select the new colour profile.
It's a bit of a kick in the balls for OP as they made a big song and dance about their 'optic' amoled screen, which turned out to just be software tweaked. This default setting does look bright without looking too garish.. but it's still cartoony to my eyes.
Have a play with both settings and see which one you prefer. This is a fantastic phone and you'll have no regrets.

Go to Settings - About Phone - scroll down to Build number - Tap on it a few times.

You'll get a notification that developer option is activated.

why should I buy a flip cover when the phone looks great naked.. Its a software bug needs to be fixed.. People who travel a lot keeping their mobiles inside the pocket will know the severity of the bug..
