That's the hydrogen OS changelog and not the OOS changelog. Plus the hydrogen OS runs in china (with no google apps) whereas in the rest of the world (not N.K.) there is google so use the play store or the G apps

You can update via OTA, it will unroot your device. Just re-root with Magisk. There are apps that will patch OTAs so you can keep Root, but I haven't had any experience with them, so yeah...

Here's the app I was talking about:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.flash

If you're familiar with Rooting, it won't be a hassle to re-root your device, only takes about 2 mins.

But will that work, even if I have 3.2.7 on my OP and also not the latest TWRP version? I'm scared of bricking my phone...

    Josh:)

When you download and install the OTA, your Custom Recovery will be overwritten by the Stock Recovery. Once your phone reboots, you just have to Flash TWRP (preferably the latest version) again and then Root your device with Magisk.

Your device won't brick but I can't guarantee that 100%, just like when you flash anything, YOU assume ALL risks of what could possibly happen.

Of course u can't, it's all on my own risk. But thanks so much! Will I loose my data? (Because its not a dirty flash)

If you don't wipe data, you shouldn't lose anything, but in all honesty, jumping from 7.X.X to 8.X.X without wiping is just asking for issues. You'll run into to little issues like some quick toggles not working, apps crashing, your device acting funky. It's better to just do it correctly and to have zero issues. Any update afterwards should be fine doing a dirty flash.

Backup all your stuff and do a clean install.

Yeah, maybe It's a good idea to wipe... I'll do it like that:

    1. Wipe all data
    2. Root device
    3. install the app you sent me and let it install the new version

    correct?

Thank you so much for your effort!

You don't need that app I posted, its just something that will allow you to keep Root while installing the OTA. So it's not necessary for a clean install, just future OTAs afterwards.

    1) Backup
    2) Wipe
    3) Install latest OTA
    4) Install TWRP
    5) Root
    6) Backup Clean Install (Optional)

And you also did it like that? I'm scared it doesnt work because of block-based OTAS since Android 5.0

I do it like that everytime I update from a major OTA (I.E. 7.X.X to 8.X.X). Any minor OTA (X.1.X to X.2.X) I don't do a wipe, I just do a dirty flash and re-root.
