By factory reset all data will be lost and phone will reach to Nougat itself

after the update, when I open a certain application the phone automatically restarts, and the battery is depleting much faster than before.

All data will be lost, you're right. Backup everything you want on your PC, in the cloud, on a Google account, whatever. The ROM will be the one currently installed on the phone, 5.01 in your case perhaps? When moving from one ROM family to another one, from Nougat to Oreo, clean install (factory reset) is by far the best option. You'll start with a brand new phone and I think you will be happy with that. All junk files and cache will have been erased in the process.

whether you installed the update via OTA or with VPN , both are same build. Whatever method for updating, the Android 8.0 Oreo is a serious buggy version about 'uncleanable cached data' . It's no way until Android 8.1 Oreo .

Do you have any idea where this deleting cache 3 times is coming from? I have read it a couple of times, even done it :D, but I can not think of any reason to delete a directory three times. Why is deleting three times giving other results as deleting once. Technically it should not matter....
This question is not to criticize, i just don't understand it....

No idea where it comes from. All I can say is on more than one occasion after an update when my phone was lagging etc one wipe didn't fix it. A second wipe did the trick.
