Hope you have installed Oxygen Updater App with correct parameters. If you're not rooted, make sure that 'Update method' is set to 'Incremental update'. Post download, read install guide (which you'll usually automatically see after downloading an update) and follow the instructions. You may also refer App FAQs: https://oxygenupdater.com/faq

Download the app, make a backup, make a copy to the cloud of the backup file. After reset, install switch, copy the backup file from the cloud to your internal storage, start the app and do the rocovery.

Remember, it won't reinstall the app data, you'll need to back up that seperately

I'm always confused about the meaning of "data" in this context.

So what is "data" and "app(lication) data" and their differences?

And how and why to backup "app data " separately?

And why do people say root is needed to backup some data?

That's a very good question still don't understand why it is not possible to make an image from your phone. The switch makes it easier, still a few things are missing.

Thing is, due to the fact Android became somewhat kind of a mess, including the updating. I think it's always best to start from zero again. Faults could be imported from apps, copying them would reintroduce the issue. Guess it's up to Google to change that.

    Hello,

Update worked perfectly for me :sunglasses:

    1. TWRP updated to latest "twrp-3.2.2-0-oneplus3.img" recovery.
    2. USB debug enabled + adb reboot bootloader
    3. Cache/Dalvik & Cache wiped via TWRP
    4. Updated to "OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_066_all_1807192301_4444777df49448e7.zip" (From previous stable version) via TWRP.
    5. Installed latest official "SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip" (Just Flashing from TWRP, in order to keep Root privileges after the OOS uptade)
    6. Wiped Cache/Dalvik, via TWRP again
Reboot... and all seems to work nicely :)

Good luck for your update guys ;)

To cleanly roll back, you'll have to perform a full flash of the older version and this requires a full factory reset to make sure it's done properly.

Still can't reject a call with a SMS if the message app isn't the stock one. It used to work before latest update (not this one). :(

Ok about the battery life in this release, the following just happened to me.
i started a Skype Call at 9:30 pm , at 2:21 am the phone vibrated and the call was cut off and the screen in small red text said low battery (with something about too low the device has to shutdown) , and yes the call lasted near 4:30 min and the screen was on the whole time... i started the call at 83% battery.

so, take the story the way you like ;)

    Added screen
