I have the same thing on my OnePlus 5, been happening since the beta ended and I moved to stable. Honestly don't know if it's software or hardware, but I'm hoping to get a new phone soon. Most likely iPhone.

It's an aging device. it's just natural. Take time on deleting junk files atleast once every month so you won't experience that often. It's what I do. And it helps a lot.

I use Clean Master to do the job. But ofcourse I have to turn of some sketchy features of that app in order for it to serve me well.

Yes it is coincidental. But haven't you considered that perhaps the device was just getting old or worn out? I has already served its purpose for 2yrs or more hasn't it?

My 5T is doing fine with the update. And also now unrooted. The only problem beginning to arise is the battery drains faster. Which is understandale coz like what I said earlier, the device is getting old and its battery must probably been worn out. Still having 5hrs SoT though. When it was newer it gets to 8hrs+ SoT.

Two years old, is an old device?
This behavior started since first Android Pie official rom and it wasn't fixed so far.

And I still find this bizzare
I have not experienced any major stuttering or other lag that I could not fix since the first Pie open beta till today
Sure there are some random hickups but easy fixable by just turning off and on the display (weird fix but it works)

I only manage to fix the stuttering by rebooting the Smartphone, and it will work ok for next hours or sometime days.
It's a very unpleasant feeling when it happen.

Me neither. My 5T rarely hiccuos. Maybe atleast once or twice a week. Nothing major that I should validly complain about.
