Sure, but if one is installing apk's from unknown sources or visiting questionable web sites, even the latest update may not protect.

agreed, but at least with the latest security patch, security vulnerability can be reduced significantly too :)

Nice work! but can I ask you why does the 6 and 6T microphone sounds so crappy than the 5T?

it's a bug, in third party apps it's not the right mic which is used, it's the one used for noise cancelling (if i ain't wrong)

Pretty much agree with the security patch issue, people are becoming more aware that they should have the latest security patch. Theres even a public information advert running in the UK telling people to update to the latest security patch and keep your apps upto date to avoid virus's/hackers/scams etc

    Let the TRUTH be out...
I updated my OnePlus 6 to 9.0.4 on 28/01/2019 (January Patch) and till now 01/04/2019 no update is totally beyond OnePlus Software Update schedule of bimonthly updates.

And wtf is ...OnePlus posted the update or edited the post of 9.0.4 update on 12/02/19 on Community Forum.

I have no problem with the fact no bimonthly security patch provided but features in Open Beta that came out much long before in Beta 4-5 are still not given in the stable version even when they are already bug free and seem stable in Open Beta.

Yes exactly and still Oreo 8.0...[e]1f602[/e]

So what IF still in OREO?

There's NO HUGE difference in Android O & Android P in features & services.

As long the apps is compatible for the OS, and it gets the monthly Security Update by Google, it will be better than having the Andoid P and still stuck in January Security Update.

    Don't you know that?!?

And the S7 was released more than 3 years ago (vs 6T that was ONLY launched November 1, 2018 and only at the start of December most people get theirs and still very LATE in Security updates), so it got 2 big Android update already with MONTHLY SECURITY UPDATE by Samsung & Google...

    Try harder!

    Have a great day

Many people think that security updates are important, many think they are not. Many people are like me, we simply do not know the truth of the matter.
So, can someone from the "they are important" side copy one of the updates and add notes as to what each item is for and how it is important and post it here.
Can someone from the "they are not important" side do the same but tell us why we don't need the update.
At least then we would know that they do know what they are talking about. At the moment we don't know who to believe.
