No device is not rooted, only bootloader unlocked. Locking it again will wipe the whole phone?

Some may ask for Android Q update since the Hardware (SD820) is still good enough for Android 10 Q ....

Not sure about that buddy .... Mine is in default settings (bootloader locked) .... And this is the official procedure .... Not sure why the issues are there while following the procedures on your phone .... May be you should wait for 3 days for the OTA to come ....

Mostly it is due to bootloader only many people are saying. Will relock it and try. Thanks

It's not possible to update from rooted OOS 5.0.9 unlocked bootloader via twrp.

TWRP says something like "Error 7 unlocked bootloader" seems that everyone with a unlocked bootloader has to lock it first.

Does locking the bootloader mean full wipe or can i lock it without doing a full wipe?

Sorry maybe question has already been answered on the 22 pages before.

I see a few people saying that they can't use root on this version and asking how to flash using TWRP. I have just successfully and seamlessly updated from a rooted CB1 to CB2 and root is working fine.

Here's the steps to update from Magisk rooted CB1 to CB2:

    1. Download the Community Beta 2 zip, the latest TWRP image and Magisk 19.1
    2. Boot into TWRP
    3. Flash the CB2 ROM zip first and then clear caches. DO NOT REBOOT
    4. Flash the TWRP img. DO NOT REBOOT
    5. IMPORTANT: You are going to reboot now, but by holding down the power button and then on the unlock warning screen press the volume key quickly so that you can select to boot straight back into recovery. This is important or you will lose TWRP and get stock recovery.
    6. Once back in TWRP, Flash Magisk zip
    7. Reboot system! It will take a few minutes the first time.

*REMEMBER* if you are only rooting for adblock and no other purpose, you no longer need root for this in Pie as it supports private DNS and you can just enter an adblocking dns and enjoy ad-free Android without root.

The same should be followed for rooted 5.0.9 to rooted 9.0.2 I suppose.
