And did you let Android download and reinstall your apps and settings or did you do it manually? Did you also keep the same apps as before?

I just let the update to install automatically including the apps. Also all of the apps are updated to the latest version and as I mentioned before, I use the same apps as before the update.

While I don't believe in the " I've got the same update as you and don't have the problem so it's your fault" stance I do see why so many people say it's not the update itself.
I know that the bad battery after updating isn't only a complaint on OnePlus phones.
Most Android phones suffer from it.
The problem has to be related to settings or apps, or a combination of both, on the phones. I have 9.0.2 and definitely do not have a battery problem. You definitely do have it.
The difference between our phones is usage, settings and apps.
Your usage hasn't changed so there's not much left.
No one, to my knowledge has an answer to this.
My only other input is that on my 3 I had the problem and I did the usual things without curing it. However, after around a week or two I realized my battery was getting back to normal. I hope this happens for you.

I think that answers what you need to look at for what is causing your battery life to not be as expected.

While 9.0.3 needs to happen, I'd rather they took a month or two and got it completely right. I don't need monthly updates. Annual updates are fine. Just give me one good solid update where the battery is fantastic and everything else works fine- just like the days before pie.

Battery matters to people- it's worth making this an absolute priority. All the chat about apps not being ready for pie bores me. If the apps aren't ready then pie is ineffective because it's too advanced for the apps ppl use. If thats the case then revert to the old system and wait til the apps are ready. Not that I believe that's really the issue at all here. I think the developers just wanted to make a blisteringly fast and impressive device and they did that at the expense of the battery life.
