Problem is not the distribution to everyone on the same day. They stagger out the update so that in case of bugs, not everyone gets affected.

After the update of 9.0.1 the back button and recent app button of my one plus 5 has stopped responding, Also the fingerprint button only works to unlock phone after which it stops responding to commands. would really appreciate if any thoughtful advice could be provided for the same.

Not sure why anyone thinks 9.0.2 will be more stable. Just like 9.0.1 was supposed to fix 9.0.0? Maybe be ok by 9.17.

Downloading manually and installing manually is much more bug free than OTA (especially going from O to P). Use Oxygen updater, or links at XDA. Anyone that has bugs now will likely have bugs on 9.0.2, unless you completely wipe your phone. I have 9.0.1 completely bug free, rooted, tons of apps and substratum overlays. Not one crash since I updated in December.

am assuming various bugs hit the model depending on region, they can send the update to their experience centers worldwide to check on test working model and gradually work on a stable update.

all depends on how we manage the testing process, removal of bugs before a stable release.

looks like we are the quinea pigs to test a release, maybe its a funding issue to get a comprehensive software test labs
