Turn on the Developers mode & change all 3 animations to 0.5x from 1x & see the difference.

I am still on Android Pie 9.0.2 and it's running smooth without any issue. I think problem is with later updates like 9.0.4

No VoWiFi works on 9.0.3 but doesn't on 9.0.4.
    Didn't say anything about stability?

my brother have the 3t and updated it to pie 9.0.4 first it was slow but then with time it became a little faster i personally like pie because of it's smoothness with app opening and going to ram management everything is smooth, now im on 4.5.1 nougat i rollback yesterday and i did not experience any heat up or battery drop it became alot faster, my opinion if you want to buy a new phone just downgrade in nougat 4.5.1 before you buy one.

Hi all, I'm using pie 9.0.4 since one month and I've tried all settings (switch off adaptive battery, disable health service) and the phone is very bad. Battery draining, heating problem even if all it's very smooth.
Will there be 9.0.5 in next months?
Please fix these problems because I don't want downgrade to nougat/oreo or change phone (for instance with a Xiaomi mi a3 that it's a very good android one phone).
    Thanks ;)

It may reduce issues but not eliminate them. For what I saw AOD and SystemUI restarting due to unability to respond on user input sometimes when resuming phone thus black screen delay appears. And it maybe related to power management and video driver. I suggest to disable AOD too but lags in interface still could happen

haven't got any of this after turning off adaptive battery. Maybe you didn't make clean install? This is my way how I did this:

TWRP installation -> Format all -> Install 5.0.8 from op support site -> install oxygen recovery -> boot system -> skip startup config -> upgrade to 9.0.4 -> turn off adaptive battery -> reboot -> recovery backup from Google accounts

for last week I haven't experienced any issues, lags ect. works like Oreo.

I'm getting this SOT. It's actually very good though running on Android Oreo 5.0.8
Since i rolled back from pie a few weeks ago or less!
Everything got settled down having expected performance in PUBG Mobile as it should be!
Overall no lags, no battery drain, no hangs etc.
If you're facing problems too on pie, recommend you to rollback to oreo, some people rolling back to nougat it's not good though as oreo has dual gpu renderers and many more +ve points.
