it's been 2nd day after updating to 9.0.5 and I see no issue. it's almost perfect update for my daily driver.
Battery usage looks good. No lags, hangs or heating.
incoming calls wake up delay has been resolved as well.
No earpiece low volume or camera focus problem.
Can't say anything regarding cell standby battery drain as I'm mostly connected to WiFi.
Also I don't play PUBG, No idea about gaming performance.

I hope we will get more improvement on next update.

phone gets hot quickly and drain battery from 86% to 78% in couple of minutes on the first boot after updated with incremental update 9.0.5

then i shut it off, wipe cache, boot it back up, everything back to normal and seems cool, smooth and fast now

This is a HW issue, unfortunately it has nothing to do with SW updates.

This is a commonly known and widely reported HW defect of 3/3T devices, the rear camera looses the ability to focus, or fails to function completely.

If the issue persist after factory resetting the device, take or send your device into a OnePlus service center to have the rear camera module replaced.

In the future pls use the forums search before creating unnecessary threads like this one.

    Is
It's not hardware issue... Do you think the camera module broke just after update to pie?

It happening after the update is unfortunately nothing more than pure coincidence.

It's a KNOWN HW failure that even OnePlus has previously confirmed.

This guy is not the only one with this problem after pie upgrade , and a user today already fixed the problem installing the last op camera APK from apkmirror.. and it's useless to write in caps lock it doesn't change the fact you are giving pointless comments

Wow, with statics like what was I thinking.

Anyways, good luck with your false inclinations. I already spent enough time addressing this issue, not gonna waste more time on it now.

    Goodluck!

Damn OnePlus must be kicking themselves replacing all those camera modules FOC, when all it needed was a software fix.

I'm trying to report back my experience everyday for those who are not sure if 9.0.5 is good to update or not.

2nd battery cycle was also more than 6 hours SOT with casual gaming, voice call and YouTube etc.
It is safe to say the battery optimization for this update is good and you will get somewhat the same battery usage as Oreo 5.0.8

the thing is, usually people who have no issue don't bother commenting here and all you read are complains that are mostly hardware related (old battery / faulty hardware) or poorly optimize installed apps behavior which are cousing heavy battery drain or heating problems.
please keep in mind that your phone is more than 3 years old and you may need to service/replace some of its parts like battery.

    Dear Sir,

I have recently updated my OnePlus 3 phone to oxygen OS 9.0.4 and now my phone hangs at least 4 to 5 times a day.

My mobile interface and operations have become very slow. There is a 5 second delay to display an incoming call number.

I tried to explore and I think the oneplus application launcher has a bug, presumeably.

Please do the needful and help me resolve this issue.
