    After playing around with the phone for few hours on 9.0.5, it seems incoming calls screen wake up delay is much better and maybe there's less than one second delay for the screen to show the caller info.
    also animations are smoother and generally the phone feels much responsive than 9.0.4
    regarding battery usage, I didn't have any problem on 9.0.4 and it's too soon to say anything about it. same for heating.

    update from 5.0.8 to 9.0.4
    with
    1. flash official twrp-3.3.1-0 and reboot to recovery (you can skip this, if you already use twtp-3.3.1-0, of course)
    2. take a nandroid
    3. (dirty) flash OxygenOS 9.0.x rom's flashable zip
    4. without rebooting(!) flash
    5. without rebooting(!) flash twrp-3.3.1-0 again
    6. wipe cache and dalvik
    7. reboot to system and enjoy OxygenOS 9.0.x!
    how about from 9.0.4 to 9.0.5 ?

    it's not a software issue. you have a hardware problem.
    i had the same problem and the only way to fix this is to internally clean your earpiece (speaker) by opening the phone. too much dirt in those tiny holes blocking the sound.
    Yes, I know. at first I thought it's an update problem because mine also happened right after some update more than a year ago.
    i suggest you to give your phone to a service center and do not try to fix it by yourself.
    I tried to fix mine by myself and end up breaking the screen as it's very fragile and sensitive to any pressure. at the end it cost me a screen replacement.

    I can confirm on 9.0.5 mobile standby drain is still present. Drained 10% battery in 1 hour,40 mins.
    No root. Phone is stock like always updated through OTA.
