I rarely post here but... After 2 weeks or so with 9.0.9 I declare with certainty that the battery life SUCKS. The drop has been substantial in comparison to the previous version. This is totally unacceptable for a stable version.

people here are moaning able android 10. there are some 360 pages in OnePlus 6 section for Android 10 thread. people who updated to 10 are unhappy. they are complaining about.
    1. Google lens in camera isn't working.
    2. screen on time is reduced since the update.
    3. lag and stutters is occasional.
    4. whatsapp is draining battery.
    5. need steps to move to stable pie.
    6. etc etc.

device performance will be further throttled in the name of keeping battery alive or something. every manufacturers will do this. it won't go away if you change your battery.
before updating to 10 make a backup of pie because all pie builds will be taken down from OnePlus website when 10 is released. the only satisfaction we are going to get is that we are going to use new ui new android new features but it comes with a price. keep calm until then and enjoy pie while you still can. the next pie updates aren't going to improve any performance either. improvement days for OnePlus 5 is over.

Same for OP5T for the last 2 weeks. Battery life has been reduced by half. WhatsApp seems to be the major suspect.

Battery drain is a huge issue in this update. I wish I could get back to the previous version. It now reminds me of my old Samsung galaxy S6 that used to charge 2-3 times a day... Well done OnePlus!

Well I finally downgraded to Android Pie from Oreo. (≧▽≦) just kidding, but I will miss Oreo in all of it's simplicity. I installed the Pie zip from the OnePlus site on Wednesday night and so far all is well. Battery seems better than it was on Oreo, at least for me. I turn my phone off when I go to bed, I'm sure this gives the battery a break too. The only lag or visual stutter that I've noticed so far, ironically, is on this forum using Brave. I checked all of my bookmarks and a couple of other forum based sites and did not get any lag or stutter. Something about the grey quote boxes the while scrolling in the browser. Still getting used to the new locations of settings and the general layout of things but overall I'm pleased with this update.

While no expert, I feel confident in saying the issues are tied to third party apps rather than the update. It's also possible its a hardware problem if the apps aren't the cause. My 5T isn't a year old yet, there are NO social media, gaming or utility apps installed and updates do NOT affect the performance as a result. The ONLY bug I've found with the last two updates are with Sound selection settings. Not sure if that helps but most of us that don't overload the phone with apps tend to have a far better experience with updates. :)
