I own samsung S7 edge and tried all option but crop was not that much visible. If i am taking a video with OP7 than i have to move at least four steps further to get the same FOV as compare to S7 edge. So in my opinion not a good choice by OP7.

Yeah. I somehow managed to mix it up thinking they did the EIS on 60 fps and not 30 fps. That is why I corrected myself in the end

and that's why op7 has much better stabilization than s7. It's a choice every developer has to make. For example, the new DJI Osmo action camera has incredible EIS (called Rocksteady) but it also crops more compared to a GoPro Hero 7 which has a wider FOV but with inferior (only a little bit) stabilization.

oh, I used to think that ois is better than eis.
But all along it is the ois+eis that is better than eis.
Also another thing, how much do you drain your battery, to 0% or what?
I have always drained my OP7's battery to 0%.
should I continue to do the same?

no dude please stop doing that. No rechargeable batteries should be drained to 0 regularly. Their life will be reduced that way. If it happens when you're out or something then it's understandable but try and keep the battery in the 15-91% range for daily use. I say 91 because Android's battery readings won't reset before 90.

But i felt image stabilization of S7 is better than OP7 in both image and video recording. I have never enabled EIS in S7.

In OP7 if u are recording video in 30FPS u will feel that the stabilization is not smooth and video is lagging.

To get the most out of your battery, try keeping it till 65%. However, that's not practical by any means. So charging it around 80-85% probably is the sweet spot! Also, don't dip it below 20%!
Battery university has conducted few research and i guess the battery wears the least if unplugged around 65%. As mentioned earlier, considering the practicality, charging till 80-85% is good and topping it up during the day does no harm.
few videos to watch on this are from Verge and Linus tech tips! Linus has probably the best explanation on how to charge the battery and prolong its life (>3 yrs).
Recommend having a stroll on YouTube and watch this if you are too concerned!
    Hope it helps!

No, draining till 20% and recharging it is preferable for better battery life span.

For me, 1080p at 30 fps and 4K at 30 fps work much better in stabilization. Video at 60 fps both in 1080p and 4K has worst stabilization. Also in 4K 60 fps, at times it looses focus whil moving the phone. One plus need to work on this.

OnePlus needs to rebuilt the camera firmware and app from ground. I have taken hundreds of images since I bought but not a single one of them was usable. Whereas in my other phone i didn't have to worry about it. I just have launch the app and click. Period.

I am not happy with the one plus 7 recent update.. After the updates the pictures clicked by the handset is not clear and in portrait mode the pics click is not showing the true color. One plus claim the camera having 48MP Lens but in reality it seems to have 12 MP or may be less than that.

One plus need to fix it soon in the upcoming update.

Guys, I've just received my OP7 yesterday, it came with around 54% or so of battery. As I was curious about using the phone I've installed all my apps in it and started to use till' it gets to 35% then i've charged to 100% and used again till around 65%. My question is: Is it safe let it drain to 30% or so and then charge it to 100% or should I charge to 65% (as the Verge said) or 85% as said here earlier? So far I'm really loving the battery experience with it (I'll stay with 9.5.5 until oneplus fix the last update)

    Update on Battery performance.

Now there's a serious improvement in my One Plus 7's battery performance when compared to the beginning days. It is effortlessly giving me 10 hrs of SOT again n again everytime(no matter what my charging pattern is).
    • It gives exactly 1 hr of SOT per 10% battery drain(average % with moderate standby) which is equals to 10 hrs of SOT with 100% battery drain! And on continues usage of phone(without keeping in standby), it'll start increasing till 1 hr 30 mins per 10% battery drain which is extremely good. Though I felt that top ups do increased the battery performance a bit.. like charging it till 80-90 whenever it reaches 20 or 30 and again draining it till 30 or 35 to charge it again till 80.
    • However, One Plus still needs to work on the battery drain issue in standby mode. It's not draining much like before on standby, but yet it's frustrating when you just take your phone, turn on the data, check notifications, let's say reply a text and turn off the data.. the next time when u take ua phone 1% of battery will be drained. So that's pretty much frustrating. And also some days, when I don't use my phone continuously, standby mode battery draining will take a toll of 1 or more hours on the SOT. I know no phone comes with zero battery drain on standby, yet it can be improved by optimizing background battery usage. So they need to fix this issue as much as they can.

It is ok to drain it till 30-20(not less than that) and charge it to 80%. Charging it only till 65% doesn't seem to be practical because then u need to top it up every now n then.. but, if you can top up again n again then go-ahead n just do it!
However, nothing harmful in draining it till 0% at times, but doing it repeatedly isn't recommendable.
