That's not for the 5G device, it will stop your radio from working - meaning no mobile data or WiFi.

Showing again the incompentency from the support team.

And to prove it, I used the very support team:

That would be a ******* tragic thing to happen.

Getting A10 a month before a device from 2 years ago - we truely are the "next generation"

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is a new phone so I'm sure you guys will get faster updates, maybe late 2019 not sure it's up to OnePlus, they will forget about 5/5T series soon after we will get Android 10.
5G is a new technology, but not polished I knew this was going to happen, it was more like a test for OnePlus.
But don't lose faith it's not the end of the world, updates sure will come, they just need to figure things out.

I think the main issue is that they can release software updates for the whole 7 series, with different hardware in each one, at the same time. Surely 90% of the software is identical? The various tweaks being made for different RAM, screens, cameras, etc... can all be done simultaneously, just not the 5G modem? just to confirm, I work for EE and they have literally nothing to do with the delays. This model feels like a gimmick and afterthought just before launch. there's no support model or plan. the sheer lack of official updates in the forum's speaks volumes, as does the fact that the most recent mention of the 5G variant is a 9.5.7 release, when we're all on 9.5.11.
don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic phone, but I've never felt so abandoned by a manufacturer, only months after release.
Never settle? yeah, never settle for for being abandoned.

    Been my point for months

Again everyone on here keeps going on about
    Test device
    Prototype device
    Project device
    Implementation device

I didn't see any of that mentioned in the adverts! I don't care that 5g is new tech I know that the roll out of 5g coverage will get better and better the issue is the device is being left behind from the less "premium" versions of the 7

I was on August patch on 12. I was posting this more for others on Sprint or maybe even other carrier locked models.

It's either a Sprint thing or carrier version it looks like. I'm not sure why it took a couple weeks to push a security update though.
