Same here. Disgusted with service. Huawei are *MUCH* better

Only possible explanation about lacking the security update would be if the update was made much earlier than possible to get that and not been given green light until recently.

I would be pretty annoyed if I owned the 5G version...
If Oneplus is not enough aware of how 5G users feel you could always use the feedback tool with your complaints. Regardless of it helps or not it's better than to stay silent.

I guess you will get the same camera update if you install the latest OnePlus camera apk from apkmirror or any similar site.
Still it's sad that 5G variant is getting poor support. May be because of very low customer base, hence very less work done for it. This should have been anticipated.

Not unless there's press coverage. If one of the more known news outlets report this, then you'll see some traction. At the moment everyone who doesn't use a 5G OP7 Pro day to day believes the updates are the same...

I can't uninstall the stock version of the camera app (3.2.106) so what happens when I try and install a newer version (3.8.13)? And will I be able to roll back to stock if I need to?

I'm also interested to know this camera is seriously lacking and if we aren't getting the updates surely this will give us all the updates?

May explain the lack of security updates but not the lack of camera updates or the app being the same version is the 9.5.5 update

    They are taking the piss

The camera apk won't do hardware changes so not the same quality

This is totally unacceptable of OnePlus, the customers who have bought their most expensive phone available are being left out in the cold. What's going to happen when Android Q starts rolling out? Is the 5G phone going to be months behind on that too? If this continues then I won't be keeping this phone for long and will never buy another OnePlus phone.

v3.4.25 is the stock camera of OOS 9.5.11. Its stable.
3.8.13 is ripped from Android Q DP4. I guess, it won't be working perfectly well as of now. Better install 3.4.25 now.

What? U expect hardware changes with firmware update, on the first hand?
Stock camera has improved from before. But still a lot of improvements needed. And thats pure software refinement. Check the gcam mods, it takes awesome snaps with the se hardware

I mean actual driver updates for the and hard coded firmware which the software in the apk cant do. Yeah the software will cause an improvement ( if they bothered to give us the updated app in the 9.5.5 update but they didn't and am sure to get the most out of it we would require the same updates that the 4g had over a month ago

it's didn't change in 9.5.7 and remained on June. the 4g variant got August earlier than the pixel did.

Just disable and re-enable the app and it will revert to built-in version. 3.8 series brakes nightscape... Atleast on normal OP7 Pro.

In short, don't bother updating the APK yourself. In most cases you won't get any tangible benefits without the HAL updates etc.

Not only this but it will cause more issues to actually do this - like nightscape not working.

We just have to wait 3months now to get the camera updates and the July security patch.

    Pay more - Get less.

    Hey everyone,
an update on why this version does not have the august security patch: We had to release this build earlier than planned to address a Wi-Fi-related security vulnerability. An OTA with August security patch is expected to be released later this month.
