What about the July patch or camera updates...

I don't understand why everyone is moaning over updates?? I have received more updates for this phone then I received in 2 years for my galaxy S8.

I think we have to treat the 5G variant as a completely different phone to the regular pro.

@OnePlus keep up the good work[e]1f44d[/e][e]1f44d[/e]

Personally I'm unhappy because I think the camera is poor. I purchased on the good DXOmark score, and in most cases my old S8+ is better.

you purchased a phone on a DXOmark score... this camera is excellent in my opinion better then my girlfriends S10+ in most conditions. if you want a proper picture use a proper camera. Phones will never get in that league.

Because every other Oneplus phone from the 3 onwards has the latest security patch?

The 7 and 7 Pro has a better camera, more features, more securitym better battery and performance.
The 7 Pro 5G (the most expensive one i might add) is behind on all of these by 2months now.

get some perspective before praising a company, they aren't your friend.

True, as a customer. But any company will be doing the same for their 5G variant as of now. Less investment to less popular device(whatever be the pricetag).

I'm only praising them over Samsung. I'm happy with the phone.

what is it behind off? the three models available are different phones and are treated that way by OnePlus as it should be.

    Oh don't need anymore friends[e]1f44d[/e][e]1f44d[/e]

To put it into perspective. Google releases a security patch every month - this can be anything that has been flagged to their security team. If you had the common knowledge to go to settings > about phone > Android Version you'll see that we're still running a security patch from June....its now August. Get the picture? You may not be as security concious as the rest of us but in a day and age where anything is possible, i expect OnePlus to provide the level of support and clarity that we've come to expect.

So never get OnePlus' future premium devices?

Got it - already said this would be my last premium device from OnePlus if this is the way they want to treat us!

5G is in the initial phase now. That's why this problem, I guess. Otherwise OnePlus devices get reasonably good software support. Regular 4G 7pro is getting latest security patch updates as of now.
Still I can understand your despair..

In this case it's more of a early stage limited edition device of sorts. It's not mainstream yet and that is a huge downside.

It's only the modem that is different. The rest of the hardware is the same, update without updating the modem

I believe the camera could be pretty separate code wise and the easier part to upgrade from the the standard Pro. The other parts is probably the issue though. It's more than just a driver slapped on top of a base OS.

I'd been hoping that for over a month (through basically the whole of July and some of August), but the most recent update finally came and added nothing. I've pretty much given up on this phone getting support from now on

I think they will struggle selling the 7T if it's 5g capable they have alienated all the early adopters of the 5g pro. even people that haven't got this version will be put off getting the 7T after seeing all these complaints. this is supposed to be flagship I think this wasn't a good move by OP. even the older devices have all latest updates. what a shambles and to be fobbed of with a message that it's coming later this month isn't good enough. plus we won't get all the latest updates I guarantee it and that will further add fuel to the fire.
