there will be no data loss. however, the phone will not be good enough for daily use as it is still under development. think before upgrading to the open beta. however if you wanted to roll back to pie stable from open beta, then you'll face data loss.

this is an open beta, only for developments. you can try these features. However the open beta is not good enough for a daily use.

installed from the links. already like the beta very much. Seems quite stable. But the color profiles are way too crispy. Broad amoled as well as P3 color spectrum clip colors unnaturally. It even looks neon kind of!

That's what i feel too.. they killed the adaptive display which used to work best for me. it was something like true tone on Apple devices

There is a T-Mobile (USA) carrier minority variant of the OnePlus 6T which has a locked bootloader and a different, ersatz, carrier firmware that this Android 10 Open Beta update is not suitable for.

Yes! If you are not getting an OTA try a local upgrade via software download section or oxygen updater in playstore.

Non carrier varient means the handset not meant for any particular region in partnership with a particular carrier company like AT&T, Verizon. Since the carrier companies test the software updates as per their requirements, so it takes longer time for updates to get released in those handsets and may also feature changes as compared to the original update change log.
